Beautiful historic hotel

Limited English speaking staff, however hotel staff are very nice. I appreciated their effort to arrange English speaking staff for me. Room 420 section had a continuous moderate motor vibration from outside, disturbing my sleep when I recovered from Montezuma revenge. Safe and good shopping location.

Charming Friendly Old Hotel

This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the Zona Rosa so it is close to many restaurants and shops including a large handicrafts market where you can find any imaginable souvenir or typical gift.. It is also a short walk to the Insurgentes subway station. The rooms are quiet and very comfortable plus the cable TV selection is fairly good. There is free wifi in the rooms although it tends to be a bit slow at times. The lobby area has a lot of history and early 1900s charm. The prices are moderate and the staff is very friendly. I've stayed at many hotels in Mexico City and I prefer this hotel over the large modern chain hotels that charge twice as much. If you are looking for a hotel with a pool and top class gym then this hotel is not for you.

Very annoying morning room service

The PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB sign is nowhere to be found. The staff keeps on knocking on your door and shouts at the top of their voices. The hotel is like a maze for first-timers. Signs are not easy to follow. Tiny tiny rooms.

Always a Treat...

This 3 star hotel with its striking lobby and old Mexican style charm is a must stay for me every time I visit Mexico City. On the wall opposite the concierge is an award of excellence and it's well deserved. Friendly staff and perfectly located in the heart of the Zona rosa to enjoy the shops and restaurants and bars. It's not as flashy as some of the hotels on Reforma or in the surrounding areas but it's definitely worth the incredible rate!

Stately and well-appointed

I really enjoyed my stay here. Originally it was to be for one night and I extended it for two more despite a major mishap. The first night I arrived, the hotel was full and I was escorted to a comparable sister hotel (and upgraded to a junior suite). I was therefore a little wary of returning the next day, but the staff couldn't have been nicer. They more than made up for the inconvenience of moving. The hotel feels grand and stately, and it offers a wonderful American breakfast in a most pleasant atrium. I would stay here again.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The Turibus gives you a great overview of the city highlights. 140 pesos, three hours RT, on/off as much as you like.
