Excellent hotel !

An excellent stay for a long weekend. Metro is very close and plenty of shops nearby . Very surprised that most of the staff were non English speaking but that's what Google translate is for ! Beyond that a very nice, clean, comfortable hotel and friendly staff.

Location! Location! Location!

This is a greThis is a great hotel! I love the décor, the museum theme lobby, and the onsite restaurant. I love the historic vibe the hotel features. This hotel is in a great location. It is close to street vendors (calle Londres), restaurants, and shopping centers. If you stay here, you’ll be a couple of blocks from Reforma and a short taxi ride from the historic downtown. Great location!

Above average with flair.

My girlfriend arrived early to check in since we came from different cities. She texted me to say that she wanted to change hotels. That the hotel was old and smelled of fungus. She is usually right about these things. But I arrived later and found that the hotel was in a location that is accessible to everything (stores, bars, restaurants, museums, etc). The hotel is very old- and that is the character, part of the charm. Sitting at the lobby feels like you're in old world Europe. It's very charming. The rooms are definitely dated. The ceiling still with popcorn white stuff. The carpet is old and smelled of many traveler's steps. The beds are surprisingly comfortable and decent- that was the selling point for me. I booked the standard room- and that's just what you get a bed and a bathroom. I looked into upgrading into the Junior Suite but they wanted an extra $150. Looking at the suite, it wasn't worth it. If it had a jacuzzi, I would have considered. But in summary, for the price this hotel delivers in 3 areas- location, bed comfort, and courtesy of staff. I would recommend it. But for an extra $50, you can definitely get a newer hotel.

Good hotel

The hotel met our expectations. It was in a good, central area, and provided us a pleasurable experience. We didn't spend too much time in our rooms, or using the hotel amenities extensively (too much to do in Mexico City!). As many other reviews suggest -- this isn't the most up-to-date or modern hotel -- it provides you with more of an historic experience (with some glamor thrown in). It has an aged appearance -- which gives it considerable charm in some areas -- but needs some updates elsewhere. My one big criticism was that WIFI coverage was sporadic -- which becomes difficult when you are on an international calling/data plan, and the signal goes out or won't connect.

This is definitely the Best Hotel In Mexico City

I have to say that I was a little bit sceptical about the Hotel (it was the first time) however, this hotel has exceeded all my expectations. Is not only the location, it's the fact that even when they don't provide you with things that you are asking for, they will try to get you that. - We asked if they have any rooms with heater, and they said no however, within 5 minutes they brought a portable heater to our room - We asked for a taxi and they didn't have any available the doorman walked with us to another hotel and get us the taxi The level of professionalism that they have is outstanding! We changed our $179.00/night hotel for this one (because of the history), and it was worth it!

Great location

The staff was very helpful and there was always someone on duty who spoke good English. The hotel was unique due to its exhibits of artifacts and information about the Mexican Revolution. It was like a museum. Our room was large and comfortable and quiet. The hotel is located close to many attractions and great restaurants.

Good place, better than many I have stayed at in the Zona Rosa

Pretty good hotel. I have stayed at about 5 others in Zona Rosa over the last 2 years. I would come back here over all the others. It is a quiet hotel and the wifi actually works throughout the hotel. This is rare in MX so if internet access is important to you this is a better sat than most hotels in this area.
