Located in front of the National Palace of Government,Monte de Piedad, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, the hotel is only five minutes from the Bellas Artes Palace, Aztec ruins of the Templo Mayor, San Idelfonso Museum, the Supreme Court of Justice, and is surrounded by museums, theatres, restaurants, stores, handcraft markets and financial centers. The hotel maintains all the importance and grandeur of its colonial building, where Emperor Moctezuma's Palace was located, and later, the residence of the conqueror Hernan Cortes.
Today, from the terrace-restaurant to the comfortable suites with amazing views of the Zocalo, you will feel that ancestral glory that Holiday Inn Zocalo preserves with its beautiful interior and modern facilities.
The warmest welcome proves why it is another treasure of the Historical Center and heritage of humanity.
We are the only hotel with its own parking. For this season we handle many packages to discover the beautiful downtown area, like Turibus & Six Flags . The Holiday Inn Zocalo is the offical hotel of Bellas Artes.
Come to visit the new museum Fingerprints of live .

Location
Right on the Zocalo. Immersed in history. Food is quite pedestrian but relatively inexpensive. I would stay here again if I could get a room with a bed larger than a double, my wife and I. I would recommend, but ensure that my friend understood that the beds are small and to be sure to eat elsewhere.

Location, Location, Location--Perfect
Because of Location, I felt really safe. All we needed was in walking distance, with enough security, to feel safe. Hotel staff was great, and attended every need.

Great location and high standards
The location, on the Cathedral side of the Zocalo, is in the heart of the Historic Center, with everything in easy walking distance. For more distant destinations in Mexico City, the Metro (subway) station is just across the square, and the fare for the whole system is 3 pesos (15 cents). Staff is friendly and helpful, and the smallish rooms are spotless with a great shower and comfortable beds. Parking is free when available in the basement garage, very unusual for hotels in the Historic Center. Free, fast wifi.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
There is a profusion of great, economical Mexican food restaurants, within a short walk. Most of them are much cheaper than the hotel food.

Enjoyable Stay--Great Location
Perfect location for our short trip. Walkable to major attractions, and the metro is very accessible and close. The taxi service offered by the hotel is quite expensive--we were lucky to have our own driver arranged through another service for about half the price. The hotel was clean; the rooms were small but we're ok with it. Love the free bottles of water provided.

Avoid This Place
This hotel has terrible customer service. [...] the manager was 10 feet away looking at us through a glass wall while we spoke. Oh, and when we finally got our non-smoking room the sink was clogged. There are many great hotels in Mexico City, where customer service is usually warm and helpful, so no reason to choose this one.
