Posada Toledo Hotel & Gallery was originally a French-style private residence, built in the late nineteenth century and inhabited by one of the most prominent families in Yucatan during the height of the sisal industry. This house has been adapted over time to offer a hosting service with the facilities of the XXI century but with an environment of more than 200 years of history. The hotel has an indoor garden surrounded by corridors framed by arches and columns and high ceilings with beams. Floors and walls are decorated with original mosaics, typical of the beautiful French architecture of that ancient time. The corridors are also adorned with furniture of very fine hand carved wood that match the high doorways. Amenities - Lobby, Reception and Art Gallery.

Richard does Merida again

I have stayed at this hotel each year I have visited Merida for more than twenty five years. It is my favorite hotel but this year may be my last. The rooms are no longer comfortable because air conditioners do not work properly, often towels, soap, shampoo, and bath mats, are not in the room. Floors are dirty and not mopped. As usual the staff is extremely friendly and the hotel is beautiful but sadly lacking good maintenance and tender loving care. I will probably stay at another hotel when I return next year.

Great value for the price!

We stayed in this hotel for one night. I have absolutely no complains for the price I paid. The room was clean. The location is great, couple of blocks away from the beautiful city center and all the restaurants. We had a lot of luggage, so the staff kept our bags while we went out for lunch, the next day, after checking out. The hotel has wi-fi and a nice little garden. I'd stay there again. Traveled as a couple.

a great refuge

The hotel is very close to the center of Merida: just a few minutes walk to the main square. It has a wonderful center courtyard with plants and a colonnaded sitting area: a great place to sit even in torrential rain! The room was clean, plumbing functioned well and the air conditioner kept the room pleasantly cool. Breakfast was available in a room hung with old portraits. A quirky wonderful place-I would certainly go back.

Great location and lovely old colonial home

Perfect if, like me, you like the faded colonial glory look, with tile floors and old colonial furniture. But the shower never got hot, best time to get maximum warmth is around 4 pm. Cools off with window ac which can be noisy, but good for covering up street noise. Wireless available, but depends on where your room is located. Always available in courtyard. Nice continental breakfast , ordered chilaquiles one morning ( extra $) and they were divine. Beautiful dining room. Missed cleaning room one day. Provided bottles water but only on 1st day

Solo getaway

I like the home-feel, rusticness of the hotel. The receptionist didn't have my reservation but found me a room nevertheless. The admin staff asked for a copy of my reservation. My room was above the kitchen so there's lots banging & clanging of pots & pans in the mornings but luckily, I needed to be up early for trips. The air-conditioner is old & noisy. Bring insect repellent! Housekeeping service was haphazard : 1st day- a half wet towel was left in the toilet sink, 2nd day-the changed pillow cases were left in the room & no floor towel was available. A lot of water has to be wasted before the hot water comes on. What a shame! The complementary b/fast is great though the menu should be changed daily (e.g. different fruits, have cereals) for variety. Thumbs up for the location; the hotel is close to the centro. I will return to this hotel except not to the rooms above the kitchen!
