Lovely Place to Stay
This is our favorite spot to stay. It has the local flavor of the Yucatan with its marvelous food. In particular the amazing breakfast that reflects the local foods of Yucatan and the very friendly service they give. The dinner service out side is also very tasty because we enjoy the local foods that Yucatan provides. Dining outside is very enjoyable than being inside and again the local style of Yucatan. We love this place and we will not go to any other hotel unless we have to. I was sick during my last stay my blood pressure dropped and I fainted they made sure I had medical attention and that I was fine.

The best Yucatecan food and Service
The Holiday Inn Merida is not glamour or glitz but its a true feeling of the Yucatecan friendlinez and hospitality. The rooms are clean with ironed linen which I love. Beds are comfortable and the staff is marvelous. The Breakfast buffet is fabulous if you like the food of Yucatan, try the Huevos Motuleños, its an opportunity to experience a variety of the local breakfast food. The outside dining is great and the food is wonderful as well. Its a buffet style so you can try the various marvelous meals of Yucatan. A bus now will take you site seeing to get a feeling of the city, bring a hat and sun tan lotion if you sit in the open area. Look out for the trees though bus is tall and branches hang low. A smaller version of this bus is in the center square which is I thought looked better because its a local entrepeneur not as fancy. There is a charge for the tour but I thought its worth it.

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
Merida en Domingo is a great way to experience Yucatan and its culture. Its an open Market time, entertainment is presented for free, and many vendors with the typical Yucatecan fair. The street are closed to traffic and side walk cafes are in abundance. At night you can dance your feet off with fabulous music of Yucatan. There are great shops to see and sites of beautiful Cathedrals. If you like to walk and enjoy the culture of Merida this is the place to be. Try the popsicles or paletas they wonderful and many flavors to pick from.

Nice place but a bit too spendy
Nice place. Very clean. Very good service. Very good location. Room was smaller than I expected for the cost. We visited 8 different Mayan ruin sites. Took a drive to the coast where we caught a boat ride to see the mangrove swamp and thousands of flamingos.
