Great Romantic Experience

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Luna Palace. We were in a wonderful room overlooking the beach. We stayed almost the entire time on the beach and at the pool. We also always ordered room service for breakfast (delicious). The only downside is that the location is far away from downtown. If you expect to go sight-seeing or out to dinner - expect lots of traffic to and from the hotel. Some things to know: Hotel does not have a gym or concierge. If you need either one you can to to the Oceano Place down the street.

Worked Well for Me!

This hotel met my specific needs to the upmost, especially location. I was very pleased with the desk staff, security, maid service and cleanliness. Rosa and Ernest were incredible, sure hope I got their names correct! They went out of their way to make sure my stay was pleasant. Friendly and helpful staff all around. The view of the beach and terrific sunsets from my balcony were wonderful. My local friends were welcomed, great parking, with a number of fun restaurants nearby.Transportation easy. Sure, I would have been happier if the WIFI was accessible in my room, but the lobby was fine. The shower door did not close properly, water leaked to the floor, but had extra towels to handle it. Love the kitchenette and large fridge. Wish I had that bed at home! Yes, I would stay there again, and recommend Luna Palace as a hotel as good value for the money. I made the right choice!

bad experience!

Very few workers could speak English. Not even the front desk workers. Everything we asked for...we were told "tomorrow". Even when we needed towels for our showers, or an extra blanket. Everyday, we were told that the heat would go on in the pool..."Tomorrow". Restruant was extremly SLOW...& very expensive. Nothing special. This is definately NOT a 4 star. I would rate it about a 1 to 2 star. We ended up leaving, and going to another hotel. We were there 5 days, and the kids couldn't even get in the pool water... We would NEVER re comend this place, unless you just needed a cheap 1 night stay.

Mediocre hotel

Only has hot water to shower at certain times! Very disappointing. Had to ask for a washcloth, bathroom floods everytime you shower because shower door isn't long enough. No alarm clock.

Quiet Nice Place

We had a one bedroom suite, it was great with two bathrooms and a king size bed. The balcony with two chairs and table was great for morning coffee or afternoon cervesa. There were a couple things we needed when we first got there and they were attended to immediately. The time share ladies in the lobby jumped on us as soon as we were checked in, but told them we had been to Mazatlan at least 15 times and they left us alone after that, which was nice. The only thing I would have liked to have had was service around the pool, we sat out by the pool many days and the bar service was non existant. We did get one waiters attention one day, and he brought us two beers, and we never saw him again. We enjoyed the location, it is quiet up on the northern end and the beach is right at the door step. Overall, a very nice place for the price.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a new beach side restaurant on the southern side of El Cid called Alagua, we stopped there on our last day and had the best lunch we had anywhere in Mazatlan. Great fish! and Great Shrimp tacos! Also if you see a sign at Diego's or Los Zaparata for a singer names Brentster, go see him, he was fun to listen to Saturday nights and Tuesdays.
