Good value at a great price
We really enjoyed our three night stay at the La Siesta Hotel. It is right on the beach in Old Mazatlan. We had a beautiful view and could open our sliding door to catch the ocean breezes. We were able to have a corner room which was much more spacious. It was clean and attractive. The beds were quite firm but I like that. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are no real amenities to speak of. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The one issue is that the hotel does not have it's own parking so you have to find a spot on the street. On weekend nights that can be a problem.

Great bang for your buck
La Siesta was great. This is not the pace if you want luxury, but the location was solid, walking distance to all the old-town sites and great restaurants. Rooms were clean and had windows and doors that opened onto a little deck and the waterfront--wonderful! The main drag is right out the window, so a bit noisy, but it didn't impede the ability to sleep, and the crashing waves took over after the cars died down for the night. Beds weren't super comfortable, pillows could use an update, but for me I don't want to spend too much time in bed sleeping anyway and the comfort level was good enough. There's a decent restaurant on site and a bar that can supply any late-night needs. Ruth who worked at the front desk helped us book a tour and a taxi to the airport, and everyone was super nice. For a get up early and go do things, come home for a quick shower and go out again for dinner and retire for a nice evening on the patio overlooking the ocean...can't be beat for the price!

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
Get to the Looney Bean for coffee at 8. Walk next door to Baika to rent a beach cruiser bicycle. Then pedal the malecon up to the golden zone and shop, walk around, etc. Panchos for lunch was awesome. Check out the nicer beaches up in the golden zone. Bike back in time to drop off the bikes and eventually walk to Plaza Machada to find a restaurant, or even better, another block or two to Topolo for a really good dinner.

Room with a view
Authentic hotel with a great view and location
This was my boyfriend's and mine second stay at this hotel. The location is remarkable with views of the ocean and walking distance from the Centro Historico. There are some great restaurants near by, as well as amazing spa, Athina, just a block away. The rooms are clean and cozy, but this is no resort hotel. However, if you are looking for a hotel with an authentic local feel, good local food, central location, and great price, then this is the spot for you.

Ocean front in El Centro
We have been staying here for our first few nights in Mazatlan, every year for about ten years. It is an old hotel with basic amenities but the location, price and cleanliness couldn't be better. Close to many of our favorite restaurants and sites. This year we were there for the first few nights of Carnival and had front row seats from our second floor balcony of the festivities.

Don't miss Cocina de Paulina's for any meal - just down the street from the English Library and Art Museum. Also, lots of restaurant choice in Plaza Machada and all along Olas Altas - look for a crowd - those are the especially good ones. So many choices!!!

Awesome view!
I really enjoyed my stay for 2.5 weeks. Dolphins and beautiful sunsets can seen from the beds. Two balcony doors and windows provided great breezes and views! Great maid service. Front desk and others always friendly with a smile. I could easily live here it if had a fridge and stove/microwave... only negatives.

Great location!
Hotel is perfectly situated across the street from the Malcon at Ollas Atlas Beach, 4 block walk to the Mazatlan Market through beautifully restored historical district, and within walking distance of many restaurants. Waterfront balcony rooms can have street noise during holiday season but we discovered balcony rooms on the side street have view of water with less noise and still have fabulous sunset views. It was also very convenient to have friendly travel agency in the same building.
