Has the flavor of Mexico
As I said, It has the flavor of Mexico. Unfortunately for most travelers they think they eed to go to the large fancy hotels in New Mazatlan. They miss out on the experience of seeing and enjoyng the real Mexico. The Playa has a stable staff, a clean hotel, good food and great clean beaches. We have stayed here several times before. We can't remember if it is four or five times and it is still a wonderful relaxing place to stay. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance and the food is great. The one drawback is that there are also many shops for souvenirs and jewlery. My wife thoroughly enjoyed herself.

great place ot stay
The room was clean, functional, and it had a superb view of the ocean. The bed was comfortable, the service was prompt and courteous, and the food was quite passable to good. The charm of Mazatlan is the old town which is a fifteen minuten 5-6 dollar taxi ride one way. Not too bad, but the golden zone is just that for the Mexican vendors and not quite enough like old Mexico for my tase. This is a grat place to go if you want to do serious beach time. I would recommend Playa Mazatl?n and go back if I have the chance.

Great experience
This was our second family vacation at Mazatlan but our first time at the Playa Mazatlan. We loved this hotel in all aspects: the location, the facilities, the beach, the restaurant, the service, everything. We definitely recommend this hotel and we would love to come back soon.

Authentic warm Mexican atmosphere
Reception was very friendly, the rooms were large and so was the bathroom/shower. Mattresses were a bit too hard. Nice balcony overlooking the garden. Lots of large tropical trees and flowers. The hotel was directly on the beach with lots of easy access, lots of talapas for shade and plenty of chairs. Waiters at the beach. The large restaurant overlooked the ocean. 3 years ago the food was excellent and we ate there every night for 14 days this time it was only fair and we only dined there twice. It was a beautiful hotel with lots of pools, 2 hot tubs and also very kid friendly with plenty of activities for them. Close to of shopping and entertainment. For a $ 5.00 taxi ride you could go to the old town of Mazatlan, the harbor, the aquarium and lots of other interesting places. The hotel sold us a Jungle Tour which was absolutly the best. So yes, we will go there again, hopefully next year.

Very nice
We upgraded to a room with a sea view, we would have appreciated a coffee maker in the room, but apart from that, and the fact that the mattress had a plastic sheet over it, making the bed uncomfortably hot, the room was what we expected, and the staff were helpful.

Mexican comfort and hospitality
Our ocean view room was kept immaculately clean and well supplied. The hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Most staff personnel speak English and were eager to provide assistance. The location is amid the tourist zone and made for a short walk to restaurants and shopping areas.

Very clean and comfortable!
The Hotel Playa Mazatlan was beautifully located right on the beach, with bungalows in the sand for the use of the hotel guests. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was very comfortable and clean. Air-conditioning kept the room cool, and the filtered-water tap in the bathroom kept the stomach bugs away. Great location, with restaurants and shopping a walk away.
