Azteca Stay

Would recommend Fri, Mar 14, 2014
Located in the Zonadorada just off the beach, AZTECA INN is central to all he restaurants and beach activities. Pleasant, simple accomodations.

Dining

Lucky B's restaurant is one block north on beach side of road. Noisy, very popular, great food; everything from tasty lobster thermador, to shrimp plates, taco salads, and great hamburgers. Good food at reasonable prices.

Cheap and Good

Would recommend Tue, Dec 10, 2013
This is not a fancy hotel at all. Basic , but well maintained and clean. Perfect for the older traveler such as myself who doesn't need the fancy bar and nightlife activities. Great location in the Golden Zone, although not right on the beach. Walk across the street through the lobby of a high-dollar hotel and you are at the beach. Can't beat the price for a nights stay.

Nice little place

Would recommend Sat, Jun 29, 2013
This is no 5 star resort hotel. It is a small, clean, very reasonable hotel for those of us that would rather have nice accommodations at a "value" price, and spend our money on other things. Easy access to the beach. Right in the heart of the Golden Zone. Friendly staff. Will stay there again and again.

Dining

Try having breakfast at Panchos. Just a short walk from the hotel. Fabulous food!

Don't waste your money.

Would not recommend Fri, Apr 26, 2013
This hotel is not worth any amount of money. We had an awful experience and left early. The hotel was full of locals who drank all day and night in the halls and pool area. There was no way to sleep. I called the front desk several times and it was like they were scard to say anything to them. There was no control. The room was not well maintained and the bathroom was a disgrace. The gentlemen at the front desk said we had the best room in the entire motel, even though I called and said the toilet wouldn't flush. It was a awful experience and I would recommend spending more money at another establishment to feel secure and able to rest at night.

Economical and clean

Would recommend Sun, Mar 11, 2012
Most friendly staff working hard to keep business in a very slow time for Mazatlan. Across the street from the beach, with a secure pool and patio area. Close to a lot of good restaurants in the Zona Dorada. We are repeat customers who will returnagain.

Dining

Christies is a new restaurant ( 4 months)with good pricing, excellent service and excellent food.

good place to stay for a great inexpensive price

Would recommend Mon, Feb 27, 2012
The staff at the Azteca Inn were really nice (and helpful). Food in their restaurant was great (had breakfast there). Rooms were clean; only thing is they could use new mattresses (could feel the springs). All in all, for the price I would stay there again.

Dining

Went for lunch at Margaritas down the street from the Azteca Inn; great food, reasonably priced and yummy margaritas! Waiters were really nice!

mzt carnaval 2012

Would recommend Mon, Feb 27, 2012
This was our 2nd stay @ Azteca Inn. We decided to stay here for Carnaval because it was away from Playa Olas Altas (where the festivities are held) but close to the Malecon for the parades. The only reason that I did not rate this as a 5 star is because during our 8 day stay, there were about 15-20 kids in the pool and jacuzzi as early as 7am (daily). We could not sleep in (not even once ) during our vacation. Our room was located on the first floor adjacent to the pool area. I was highly disappointed that the staff did not control the noise level nor that the parents respected the other guest and pool hours. Besides that I would probably stay @ Azteca Inn again simply for the price, service and location which you can not beat.

Shopping hint

do not purchase suveniors in the Golden Zone, buy them in El Centro (downtown) where you can always bargain and get a great deal.

Average is good.

Would recommend Sun, Mar 6, 2011
The bed was hard as a rock. Convenient location is a plus. The rooms were standard, but very functional. Maid service, [...], was excellent. The in-house restaurant menu was overpriced. No services for day trips were provided. Safety deposit boxes were behind the check in area. They attempt to try to get you for a time share presentation at Las Flores. For the money spent, it's a good deal. They may be across from the beach, but access is a good walk away where you will be swarmed by the ravenous street vendors. The place is average, so you have money for everything else.

Dining

Arre Lulu, Margarita's are a short walk away. Each specializes with seafood. Jungle Juice and Panama are good choices for breakfast.
