Ideal 5 star experience at 3 Star prices
Do not hesitate, book the Grand Bay right now. This is inexpensive elegance with weather, views and all the relaxation you are looking for. The staff is simply superb, the margaritas are perfect, the food is delicious - and not limited to traditional Mexican fare. We did daily golf lessons at the 27 hole course, taught by Gabriel. Great way to start the day. Try kayaking to one of the excellent restaurants in Colimila which is very nearby. If you have the need, take a panga into Barra de Navidad. But my guess is that you will find all that you would ever want right at the Grand Bay. Go off season for the best rates. Note: the food is so reasonably priced that you should skip doing the all-inclusive pricing. Over ate? Do morning Yoga or one of the other several exercise options. Best week possible! The free internet connection is a little slow, but maybe that was a good thing....

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
The breakfast/brunch buffet is a true bargain. So, is the pasta buffet choice for dinner with fresh marine choices to make anyone happy. Also, the margaritas are about $5.50 when you factor in the US exchange rate.

Great golf, food, beaches, pools. Don´t need much more than that. We go 2-3 times a year (twice already this year) , with both friends and family. It helps that it is only a 4 hour drive from home.

A great week in Mexico
We had three rooms and all of us enjoyed the great week at the Grand Bay Resort. The daily breakfast buffet was superb. The nearby golf was great fun. We also took advantage of a great day of fishing. The only downside was the hours I have spent on the phone with my credit card company and Wyndham resorts because the credit card I used at check-in was charged for the same charges that I paid with a different credit card at check-out. The hotel needs to pay greater attention to making sure that it is not double charging when two credit cards are used.

Weekend stay at the Wyndham
The hotel is in a great location and abovel all else is really well maintained. It's fairly common in Mexico for many once beautiful hotels to be poorly maintained but not in this case. The rooms have a good size and in general good views over the lagoon. The hotel is built on a hill-side and the use of stairs and lifts is common and therefore people with a disibility would find it challenging. Food was good and with enough amenities and activities to satisfy most tastes.

Manzanillo Resort
We went in June and it is the off season for this area, so there were very few people at the resort, which was nice for a quiet & relaxing vacation. The hotel is beautiful and our service was excellent. Grand Bay is not close to the hotel zone in Manzanillo so there isn't as much to do right there. We spent most of our time lounging by the pool. It was very hot and humid. The hotel does not sit on the ocean but more of a lagoon, so if you want to be near the ocean, this is probably not the right place. They have water taxis (for a nominal fee) that will take you across the lagoon to Barre de Navidad. There are many restaurants but during the off season, many are closed or appear to be. We would just walk in and most were open but we were the only ones there. Highly recommend Marlene's (ocean side). There is also the little town of Colima outside the grounds of the Grand Bay where you can walk to several restaurants - highly recommend the shrimp empanadas at Mary's. The hotel does offer excursions but they seemed a bit pricey but may be because of the time of year. The staff at the Grand Bay were wonderful and very attentive. We would stay there again, as well as going back to Manzanillo and trying something along the hotel zone.
