Nice place to stay in real mexico

We liked this hotel, but we were the only people from the united states. Aparently its $500 cheaper to fly from Winnipeg, Canada. I could have driven 6 hours north to winnipeg, flown from there, and saved $1000 on my trip.Very beautiful and safe area if you would like to go to mexico, but dont want the americanization of somewhere like Cancun.

The hotel from outside looks great.

The hotel from outside looks great. Inside, this is something else. First, the hotel rooms need renovation. The furniture into my room was realy old and it was smelling like mold. Also, I had to switch room twice, one because they put me in a room just under the lobby where everyone were walking. After that, there was a major water leak into the bathroom. The staff was helpfull. The food is no too bad beside the breakfast.... That was horrible. Last point, the alcool was so cheap, all drinks were made with bar mix...

Great service, wonderful resort

This hotel was a great value with wonderful kind, caring staff. The waiters, waitresses, desk personnel, service workers, and entertainment staff were all great-so helpful and happy to help us make our stay a fantastic one. The hotel was a little noisy in the wee hours of the night after the disco closed up. The rooms had a great view of the mountain and ocean where we even spotted whales two days of our seven at the Tesoro. We used the kayaks and snorkel equipment and the ocean is nice and calm in front of the hotel which made these activities so much fun! We had no trouble getting reservations for the specialty restaurants and the food was great. Also, the hotel is kept very clean and there were always workers sweeping and cleaning.

Disappointed Vacation!

the first room was in the the corner, with a view of the mountain, but the room smelled of mold. the second room also smelled of mold and the view was blocked by the restaurant shading. the third room was blocked by a palm tree and smelled of mold. the fourth was was a lot better but still smelled of mold and poor maintenance. the beer smelled ammonia. the food over all was okay but lacked in the serving. over all my husband and i were extremely disappointed in what we thought would be our best vacation yet.

Not a good hotel...

Most of the staff was friendly, the specialty restaurant staff was great though. While we were there it was 100% full. Running a special for locals I think, which is fine except buffet constanly ran out of food and was very slow to refill. I saw one small child take a whole plate of flan from the dessert area to his parents table. When I inquired about more being brought out I was told that was it. The buffett had only been opened for 15 minutes. The pool bar had a constant line of at least 10-15 people waiting. This is unacceptable they could have opened a portable one. The A/C was locked so you could not adjust it so room never really was cool. The elevators were constantly broken, we had to take the stairs we were on the 4th floor. We could do it ok, but I imagine it was rough on elderly folks. There was no enforcement of pool rules which we never could get a chair, we had to go to the beach that was ok, but the Locals would take 5-8 chairs at a time which made that tough also. I understand the need to fill rooms, but some consideration should be made to guests that paid quite more than the locals did. The local "guests" were for the most part rude, cut in front of you in line "constantly" and somehow it seemed entitled for whatever reason. This was not all but a great majority of them. Check-in took forever and when I inquired about check-out I was told to come down at 10:00 an "Check-out was at noon. We got there about 11:30 and no problem, No we will not stay here again.

not what I ask for

the hotel is nice , the staff is friendly but when I got to my room there was no control and the mini bar had only 2 sodas and 1 water ( that's not a mini bar )so I called front desk to ask for the control for tv 1 time waited for an hr called again like 3 times giving like an hr each time until I got it , i guess the problem is that we went to cancun in march and everything was great , 1 restaurant and 1 bar were open 24 hr ,mini bar in the room had plenty of soda water and beer .the shows that they have at el tesoro are ok but the buffet is pretty boring
