Not the best Riu Hotel in Mexico
The buffet food was terrible, the meat was tough and burt, no variety, continued to have the same thing, the wine tasted as if it was watered down. I will never return to this hotel. LB

Fun Hotel
If you're looking for fun, this is your hotel! It's a great environment for young couples as well as families with young children. Staff are very attentive and always friendly. The food is ok. Nothing I would brag about but I also don't eat pork so my menu options were limited. However, just be careful what you eat. Don't try anything you don't recognize. My mom got really sick with vomiting and diarrhea and had to be hospitalized over night. The location is great because you're close enough to downtown but far away from the city noise. The pool overlooks the ocean and the arcs. It's a stunning view! Also, use the hotels travel kiosk that is located on the beach. I bought a beachfront massage, horseback riding excursion and boat trip to the arcs. They are very reasonably priced and reliable.

Will definitely be back for more fun!
I had always preferred smaller resorts but the RIU Santa Fe has changed my mine. Yes, there are pros and cons to both but I really enjoyed the fact that I could start out at the pool behind building 7 in the mornings, enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean and the Land's End arches. If I needed a change of scenery in the afternoon, once the crowd, the music and the sun really picked up, there were so many other pools for me to choose from. I had previously read some reviews about the staff being rude and I just have to ask, are they sure they were vacationing at the Santa Fe? I experienced none of that. From the entertainment staff to the restaurant workers, everyone was very nice and polite. The maintenance staff was constantly walking around and cleaning. The one suggestion I read in other reviews, and I would agree with, was that the double beds in the rooms need to have some space between them instead of being pushed so closely together. But overall, the RIU Santa Fe is a great resort and I am already planning for summer vacation 2013!

Dining tip:
Not Applicable
Unless you just want to try something different, I wouldn't waste time trying to reserve a specialty restaurant. The Baja California has a wide selection. One evening when it was closed and I had to reserve a specialty restaurant the food presentation was fancier but, basically the some of the same selection that was in the Baja California buffet.

second visit to this property
staff was always very friendly and helpful; all locations on the property were extremely well maintained, almost immaculately clean; bars could have stocked more brand name labels; buffets were normal 'buffets', but contained a wide variety; specialty restaurants were better this time, but trying to get a reservation was confusing and a bit difficult;

Cabo
It's a nice place to stay. It is too far out of town for my taste...every taxi is $12....into town...and $12 back from town.....too much in my opinion. I will stay closer to town in the future. I paid for an ocean view and it was the typical "you need to crane your head over the balcony to see the ocean" bull! Staff was pretty cool...restaurant help at the buffet was average....I needed to ask for drinks many times. Entertainment at the hotel was sufficient. Rooms were nice but bummed the room safe did not work. The last day I woke up to no electricity and no water....so that was a dissappointment, too.

Great experience!
Traveled here with family including children, thirty somethings. Nice, clean rooms, grounds. Food at buffet was good and lots of variety. Not terribly impressed with special restaurants. Lots of room at the many pools to relax, never unable to get a chair. Would be nice to have service staff take orders (and they would like tips)but apparently don't have this. Short cab ride to town for about $15. Plenty of shopping if you want to. Felt safe at all times. Can't wait to get back!

True fun in the sun
This is my fourth visit to the Riu Santa Fe. I continue to feel very well taken care of and thoroughly enjoy this all-inclusive resort. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are always spotless, the food plentiful and the other guests always up for a good time.

I recommend spending the evening at the hotel then share a taxi with your "new" friends to downtown Cabo where you can dance the night away.
