Very family friendly
The hotel was very nice, but I have one complaint the buffet for lunch had the same menu each day, I think it would be nice to change themes each day.

DIsappointing
The Riu Santa Fe proved to be disappointing overall. Nice property, nice pools. Ok food, slow bar service. Garden view = parking lot view in some buildings. Had to change rooms/buildings because of all the drunken spring breakers screaming throughout the hotel all night, every night. Changing didn't help. But, hey, my bad. I should have known better. Don't go anywhere near this property during the month of March. And think twice about any other time of year.

Fun Place
The RIU Santa Fe was bery enjoyable. I went with 3 friends and we had a great time. It is family friendly but also geared for people looking to have a good time. There are 2 different pools, there the 1st pool is more relaxing and more calming and then there is the pool by the beach where a lot more was going on. Everyone at this pool was crowded around the swim up bar and less families were around. The room was very nice and easily accomidated 3 people.

My review of RIU Santa Fe - All Inclusive
The RIU Santa Fe in Cabo San Lucas was great. The rooms were large and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the garden. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was fantastic and plenty of it at all hours of the day or night. I will definately refer the RIU to family and friends. I WILL BE BACK!

Bad experience
I stayed at the Riu Santa Fe February 2-9. I had high expectations because I've seen Riu resorts before and thought they were really nice. As far as the resort goes, it was nice. The pools were big, the resort was big, and everything was clean. The pools were freezing though, it was not enjoyable to swim. And keep in mind, the weather in Cabo in February is cooler. It was around 75 during the day and a cold 60 at night. I would have liked it to have been a little warmer. We did not care for the food at all. Almost everything at the Riu was buffet and not much of anything actually served to you at the table. A few days into the trip, some items were stolen from our room. The guy at the front desk asked our room number when he called us a taxi, and coincidentally (or not), the items became missing in those 2 hours that we were gone. The management was awful. They did not seem to care about what happened. In fact, they were rude and just seemed to want to get rid of us. I would not stay here again! We travel a lot, 5-6 times a year. I've stayed in a lot of hotels, and never have I experienced theft nor the blatant disregard for customer service as I had at this hotel.

Good Value
This hotel was brand new and very pretty. It's laid out well and not a huge walk to anything. Staff was very helpful especially when my husband's luggage was lost at the airport. The rooms were comfortable and I enjoyed the dark wood framework. The bathroom was large with a double vanity, but he bathtub was my favorite as it was deep and not too wide so it quickly filled and was great for soaking. The rain model shower head made for a pleasant shower. The pool was large and beautiful but much too cold for us to enjoy in January as it is not heated. Generally the grounds were very nice and the beach is quite generous and we had no problem getting a chaise on the beach. We went to the jacuzzi a few days but the temperature varied and a couple of times the water was quite tepid. Our biggest complaint had to be the food. After a few days it became quite predictable. All the restaurants are buffet and that can get a bit tiring. We must have hit a bad night at the Italian restaurant as it left a lot to be desired. The Asian restaurant had quite a variety and I did enjoy that. We ate at the Steak house a couple of times and enjoyed the ribs. The buffet and the Baja California is huge and they do have a lot of variety, but eating out of the pans on the steam table everyday gets old. All in all, our trip was great. We took in a few activities like whale watching, sailing and deep sea fishing. The hotel was very nice---just wish they would revamp their food service.

Most activities we enjoyed were at the Marina and that is a $10 cab fare. We went Whale watching and there were plenty to see along with lots of dolphins. We are sailors and decided to race on the 12 meter boats from Australia that were in the America's cup. We went Deep sea fishing with Redrum and they were very good.

Riu great hotel
Great hotel for couples or family, for a hotel. When traveling with kids, although it is kid friendly, they do not have 2 bedroom units or lock-out rooms side-by-side, so you would either purchase another room or your kids stay in the same room, with kids I prefer renting condos that have kitchen and such. Other than that I feel the food was good to excellent, and since it is All-inclusive all food all drinks are included all the time. They have a small spa and small workout room. Oodles of square feet of pools and loungers around the pools. On a good beach with very few people, a medium length walk to the party beach Medano Beach. Architecture of Riu San Fe is awesome, looks like old Santa Fe. Everything was clean and well kept, P.S since it is so new, I was the first guest in the room I stayed at.

Short drive from hotel
Everything is a short distance to downtown Cabo San Lucas approx 2.5 miles. Taxi rides are $10 to town and $10 back or local transit buses are 80 cents each way and they come to the gate entrance every 10-15 minutes and drop you right off at the new mall, until 10:15 at night.
