Good, not great

My buddy and I spent 5 nights here at the end of March. The crowd at the hotel (and Cabo in general) was mixed; the first few days the hotel was full of college spring breakers, and then they were replaced by families and younger (teenage) travelers. Positives: good beach, good pools with swim-up bars, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, adequate gym/spa facilities, 24 hr food, nice minibar in room. Food was mostly good but could be hit or miss at times. We eat mostly anything so this was never a serious issue for us, but picky eaters might have a limited menu sometimes. Although the beach was great, you have to get down there really early to reserve a spot (especially if you want shade). Negatives: liquor (mostly bottom shelf/no-name brands), NO SOUNDPROOFING IN ROOMS. These were by far the most annoying aspects. We drank mostly mixed drinks because the stuff was too foul to take straight. Also, some bartenders don't know how to make anything slightly complicated, so adjust your expectations. Again, if you aren't too picky this isn't that serious, but I expected better. The lack of soundproofing is annoying, especially if you're looking for a midday nap. Towards nighttime it got better, but it won't be pretty if you live next door to some rowdy kids. Last, this doesn't really seem like a hookup hotel (for you party animals out there). Many people come in groups and tend to stick with their own cliques. I would recommend this place to someone who wants to come with his/her own friends and have fun together, not necessarily for someone looking for a fling. Overall, this was a nice hotel and fair value for the money. Good but not great is the ultimate verdict.

Best vacation ever

This resort was excellent in every way. The only thing I wish was better, was the swimming in the ocean. there was a undertow, that wasn't terrible, but we sat on the beach, view was great, but swam in the pools. There was lots to choose from too. Nice walk into to town, with lots more shopping, took the water taxi, which was great, and local bus back. Make sure to ask for Jesus or David on the beach. They will take excellent care of you and not overcharge. The bartenders were good, and if you ask, there is premium brands to choose from. The food was also good, buffet and the restaurants.

Great place to get away an have a great time. All inclusive is def the way to go. Great food in a great location not too close to town but only a short cheap cab or water taxi ride if you want to leave the property. Very safe.

Spring Break Don't

The hotel location was great, clean, food your average. all inclusive fare. The down fall is they cater to the Spring Break crowd. Alot of college and high school students on their spring breaks so alot of drunk young adults around. I felt very uncomfotable at the pool on most days. We had a room that faced the outside of resort so we could not here alot of the night partying but talked to people that could. Felt the RIU staff egged alot of it on such as Keg stands in front of the lunch buffet for all to see. Hard to get anything to drink due to crowds at the pool bars.

Spring break craziness, but a great time

You have to know when you come here that for spring break it is going to be a bit crazy. With that understanding, and likely willingness to also get involved to some degree in the craziness, it was a good time. Annoying to have to pay cabs into downtown on a per head basis rather than a per vehicle basis but that is just typical Mexican shadiness. Hotel was surprisingly clean, good amenities, except the wifi which was not good and slow, food was not bad for an all inclusive but you had the other internal restaurants to switch it up.

Spring Breat

Had a great time but did not like being surrounded by TONS of college spring breakers. The resort was very crowded. It was hard to sleep at night because they were so loud. They also overtook the pool by the ocean. The amenities were nice and food average. The staff worked very hard and were extremely nice. They did a great job cleaning each day and keeping the property looking nice. I felt bad for them having to wait on all the drunk spring breakers. The drinks were good, but we were hoping for pool side service. You had to go to the bar to get drinks every time (which wasn't terrible). We will most likely stay somewhere else next time we visit Cabo. It was reasonably priced so we basically got what we paid for. Again, we still had a great time minus a few things.

Excellent Hotel

My wife and I along with 3 other couples stayed here for four nights and had an amazing time. The staff was great, our room was extremely clean and the food was much better than I expected! We took a water taxi to lovers beach for an afternoon, and then went to the marina for dinner and drinks. It is a very large resort, which was exactly what was needed as it was spring break, so the size allowed us many options to get away from the hard party's! The only complaint we had was the lack of bathrooms. There really weren't many and they were far apart. Also, it would be great if they had servers walking around the pools. Other than that, we all plan on returning and enjoying another trip in Heaven!

Go for Spring Break!

This resort does not get any better during Spring Break. Tons of young people, not far from the downtown clubs/bars (25 min walk on the beach), delicious food, nonstop alcohol... what more could you want?
