Perfect College Spring Break
We stayed on the resort most of the time and spent most of it drinking on the beach. Bar service was great. Many options to go to. I would not bring kids here around spring break time because it was overwhelmed by college kids that could be pretty offensive. Overall great place to stay. The all-inclusive is definitely worth it.

Awesome place in an awesome location
This was our first experience with an all inclusive [...]. I would recommend the resort package to anyone who is seeking a first rate resort with good food selection and ample access to liquor in your room, at dinner or around the numerous pools.

One thing for sure, when you get off the plane at Cabo, and you clear customs & Immigration.....do not allow the timeshare "turkey vultures" to grab your bag and act like you are their friend. These "body snatchers" are very aggressive and have no place in an international airport. Just make your way to the outside of the terminal and grab a taxi with $15 being the average rate to Cabo San Lucas.

Can't beat this place!
This is a wonderful resort. It is fairly new, so the staff is quite young. However, they make up for inexperience with enthusiasn and friendliness. We read some negative reviews abut the food. It is nearly all buffet - even the reservation restaurants are to a large extent buffet. Like all buffets, you will find some food you like and some you don't. However, if you can't put together a great meal from all the selection that is available, you are from another planet! We did not have any problems getting reservations, even when we tried very late in the day. On a couple of occasions, we did not get our first choice of restaurant or time, but if you are flexible, there is no problem. On the other hand, the large no-reservation buffet has so much good food that it may just satisfy your needs without getting a reservation. The location is a bit of a ways from town. We walked the distance on the beach twice, and it was a bit of a trek. Taxis are expensive, so our only desire would have been that it be a little closer to town. The facility itself is amazing! Beautiful tiles and hardwoods. An incredible lobby area with tasteful art and seating areas. The grounds are immaculate. The crowds are a reasonable mix of hardcore partiers and more sedate types. You can pick your areas as you choose. They do a good job of closing things down at reasonable times so the place isn't rocking with noise all night. However, the consturction with hard tile halls and solid wood doors makes for some disturbances at night. Anyone walking down the halls carring on a normal conversation will be heard by everyone on that floor for the length of the hall. It makes for some untimely disturbances throughout the night. We noticed that the RIU Palace next door tries to overcome this with a double door arrangement - don't know if it works or not. Overall, a great experience. We will definitely seek out RIU resorts on future trips.

The Perfect Vacation Spot
This was one of my most favorite vacations ever! The room was so beautiful, with a great ocean view from our balcony. They always had our fridge stocked with soda, water and beer! The food was great with so many selections. I will definitely be coming back every year to this special spot.

Every night there was a special performance at the hotel. Live band, plays, dancers for the children. The staff was always dressed up in a certain costume. My favorite was when they preformed scenes from the movie "Grease"!

Best Vacation EVER!!!!
My husband and I just returned from 6 days at the RIU Santa Fe. We were celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary, and my graduation from medical school! It was the best vacation ever! We were quickly checked in by a very friendly front desk staff and given directions to our room and informed about all of the restaurants, pools, and bars. We walk to our room (which was in building 7---the best one), through GORGEOUS grounds. Building 7 is like a hotel in itself. It is U-shaped around 3 infinity pools, two swim-up bars, and one of the restaurants. Our room is very clean with a big bathroom, and a great porch! There is a mini-bar stocked with Water, soda, and beer. We didn't want the beer, so they gave us extra water (this is all included as well!). The pools are gorgeous, and there are PLENTY of lounge chairs. The beach is pretty, but the water has a huge undertow! I actually thought people were exagerating in other reviews. The waves are HUGH, and it's just breathtakingly gorgerous! We walked down to the marina/downtown Cabo almost everyday. It takes about 20-30min (depending on how well you avoid the vendors). There is also a taki from the airport to downtown for $12. The taxi's are actually large shuttle vans, and everything is so professional. My husband and I never felt unsafe. The Marina is a must-see, with beautiful yachts and fishing boats, along with great restuarants (Alexander's was great!!), and very upscale shopping. Back to details about the hotel. The staff is awesome, and everything in the resort is SO clean. THere was always someone cleaning something. We loved breakfast and dinner! You have the option to make reservations to specific restaurants, which we did one night (Italian restaurant). It was good, but we enjoyed the buffet style much better! It's not your typical buffet, either, they have cooking stations, and everything is fresh and very delicious!! We usually had lunch at the marina restuarants, but it was fairly good....sandwiches, salad, mouth-watering fruit, quesadillas, homemade pizza, etc!! We would definitely return to Cabo and the Riu!!!
