RIU Santa Fe Cabo San Lucas
My only complaint would be the dinner served at the hotel restaurants. We ate at the Mexican, Asian, Steak House and Italian restaurants, the appetizers and side dishes were very good, however the main course disappointed me every time. They were either over cooked, flavorless or not what is my expectation of what that particular dish should be. I am extremely pleased to say that the staff was exceptional and extremely kind and professional. The entertainment coordinators and activities were truly great and made it so that one did not want or need to leave the comfort and enjoyment of the hotel. Overall I would recommend this experience and one day return myself. Extremely pleased.

What Amenities?
Amenities listed were vague. More attention to advertising would make the stay more enjoyable. When we know what's provided we plan ahead. Free Wi-Fi was only available in the lobby area and limited to 90 minutes per room per day. The 90 minutes were a one time continous use from start to finish. If you logged in and used only 10 minutes, you had to wait 24 hours to log in again. FYI - unlimited Wi-Fi is available in your room with a credit card charge. Misleading....... The $35 SPA credit was not applicable to all services. We had to spend over $131 to use the credit. Towels at the SPA were not available unless you paid for SPA services. You had to bring your own towel and take the wet towel back to your room to be replaced the next day or you would get one towel less the next day. The beach towels were difficult to obtain. Each room is assigned 1 towel per person. Dry towels run out at 3 or 4 PM. That meant if you were ready to go to your room at that time you had to return at 5 or 6 PM for a dry towel for the next day. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner - the ones in the room are difficult to pump from the shower dispenser. The food was great - at all the food areas and restaurants. All bar drinks were good! The glasses used for juices and sodas were small. If you ask for soda with ice you need to ask for 2 glasses. We solved that problem by bringing our own soda from the room and requesting glasses with ice only.

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
Don't pay for a partial view of the ocean!!! We paid the extra money and could only see the ocean if you leaned over the balcony and held a mirror on one hand. When we complained we were told we could get the partial view (same view) with a garden view instead. Rip off! Don't pay extra! The hotel location was OK. Four people can travel to the Marina for $3/person for shopping or taking a boat ride ($10/person) to see the Arches on the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. Friendly people on the taxi's and water boats. Everyone is friendly and helpful. A must see trip to San Jose is $35 one-way but well worth it. There are more shops and colorful buildings. Great trip to San Jose.

Great getaway
We had a great time. Resort was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and actually the whole resort was very clean. The food was good most of the time but we found a lot of it to be very salty. We went to one of the so called Specialty resturant and were very disappointed. The food was nothing special and very salty. We would of had better food at the buffet. Great day and night entertainment.

When to the arches. We did not do the boat ride through the resort. They wanted $65 per person. We went into town and took a boat for $10 pp. Good shopping too.

Great Trip
My husband and I had the best time at this resort and will return in the future. Our only complaint was that the food was not as good at it was when we stayed at the Riu Palace in Cancun.

Nice and clean hotel. Great and friendly bar tenders. The food was good at the main Buffet. The mix drinks were good but the beer was so so. Over all I would stay there again.

Family Vacation
Hotel location is great, provides excellent view of Lands End. The facilities are excellent and very well maintained. The service was excellent. The food provided in the all-inclusive plan is average at best. We never got sick, but there were only a couple meals that we were really satisfied, especially our teenagers. We also had a severe noise problem during our stay. We had to call security on three different occasions due to either fights in neighboring rooms, or large groups singing after midnight. We were only able to sleep thru the night twice in seven nights without being woke up with noise. The entertainment had its good points but also some bad points. It had too many inappropriate connotations for my taste. This was our second time at this resort, and we would probably return again.

Excellent All Inclusive Value
My wife and I spent 6 nights at the Riu Santa Fe and all in all were quite happy. Our only major issue was the other visitors which included college kids whom it appears were sent away by their parents. This did not mix well with the family and otherwise very kid friendly environment. However, this can’t really be laid on the resort itself, but just a matter of poor timing. Food was awesome, though it does get old by the 4th day. The pools are excellent as is the beach and location. The resort is kept very, very clean, is modern, and very comfortable. The staff work very hard on keeping the grounds up well and this is quite apparent. The rooms are great with the only issue which only bothered me being the smoke alarm that flashed 2 little red lights that could light up the room in the dark. But, I have super good night vision and looking at the lights from the bed with my eyes closed could easily see them and looking away they would briefly light up the room for me with my eyes open. I do not expect this would be an issue to anyone else. Also, if you have rude neighbors the room’s noise can be intrusive. The only other issue would be the wait time for drinks in the pool. More staffing is needed here. The resort overall deserves a plus 4 star rating.

Not for the seasoned traveler
I have stayed at a number of resorts in Cabo over the past 15 years and would have to say this was the biggest diappointment. The service was mediocore at best, the all inclusive food was not good and tried several times to make a reservation for one of the restaurants well ahead of time and never able to receive one. I spoke with another group staying there that claimed they had money stolen from their room and someone from house cleaning showed up at 10:00 pm unannounced and when questioned said it was a mistake. I would not return to this resort.

Great Relaxation Location for your Buck!
My Fiance and I just stayed at the Riu Sante Fe for the last week in May and had a fabulous experience. The room was super clean and the staff is constantly cleaning day and night. We took in a couples massage and pedicure at the spa there and it was fabulous. Food at the buffet was great but if you are able to get into one of the restaurants, it's definitely fine dining. We got into the Itialian restaurant 2 times and the Asian once. We preferred the Italian but both were great. The quiet pool was amazing and we also spent some time at the party side as well and enjoyed the infinity pool. Overall, great bang for your buck!

Go down to the Concierge early in the morning (I went in pajamas) to book into one of the restaurants for supper. It was definitely worth it and breaks up the buffet days.

Excellent
The hotel overall was excellent. It is a massive place - with enormous pools. The restaurants & bars were very good. Overall the whole place was gorgeous & you couldn't ask for more. We had one major complaint however - my son had his own room. That room had a leak in the ceiling over the bathtub that splashed out into the bathroom floor. We called the desk twice about it. Supposedly that sent someone to look at it- but it was never fixed & they didn't offer to move him or anything. It was quite an annoyance.
