Not good.

It is not true all-inclusive. It was not possible to make dinner reservation even though most of restaurants were 80% empty. Food was really bad, salty, not tasty. Drink was bad. I had limited drinks. Room was not clean. I got bite by some insect. Limited internet access. only pool was good and large. that's why I give 2 stars instead of 1 star.

Not the best Riu Hotel in Mexico

The buffet food was terrible, the meat was tough and burt, no variety, continued to have the same thing, the wine tasted as if it was watered down. I will never return to this hotel. LB

Listen to all bad reviews, they are true!

Let's start with check in: it took us 45 mins to check in. We stood in line while 2 girls tried to check everyone in while 6 staff members were walking around with nothing to do. It was terrible. The rooms: The smell in the rooms was horrible. It was unbelievable. The sheets, the towels, everything in the room smelled really bad it was unbearable to get use to and to stay in the room for long periods of time. Other hotel guests: There was a lot of young hotel guests that were really drunk most of the time. Banging on random doors late at night, screaming down the halls, vomiting in the hall ways, it was a crazy sight to watch. The food: Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! We did not eat once at the restaurant. The food looked unsafe to eat as well as unappetizing.

Hated to Leave

Stayed Nov 9-13. We reserved a standard room and were fortunate to get into building 7 in a room with a partial ocean view. I was very impressed with the size and quality of the room. The bed was hard, but the room was great. Only a few English channels on TV but who cares when you spend all day at the infinity pools, buffets or on an excursion. The hotel grounds are immaculate. You get better service if you tip - just like in the USA. Staff was all very nice during our stay. We did daytime excursions, but you could literally spend your entire vacation on the property. It's huge with multiple gigantic pools. Drinks and buffet food were plentiful and varied. We were ready for bed after the evening show each night after a full day of playing and eating and drinking our fill. Can't beat the value and amenities. If you complain about this place you are an uptight and unhappy person who probably doesn't tip. If you don't like something at the buffet, try something else. There are tons of options. If you think a drink is weak, ask for more alcohol. There are no elevators so walk up the stairs a floor or two. We needed the exercise after stuffing ourselves at the buffet. It's a state of mind. We're already booking our next vacation here. Wish they'd build a Riu in Maui.

Excellent Value

Overal, all my family was pleasantly surprised for the value received on this trip; it was a beautiful hotel, good location, excellent service and fresh/good food. Things that in my opinion need to be improved: 1)Include free internet; all the hotels in the US, even the cheap motels offer free internet. 2) TVs are too small; they need to be updated to HD and larger size. 3) Need to provide more NFL football games on TV. 4)Cups for non-alcoholic drinks are too small; they need to be at least 12 oz but 16oz will be better to avoid many trip to the fountain drink dispensers. 5)Need to provide self-serve coffee pots available for regular and decaf american coffee at the sports bar 24/7 for the people that have to leave early on tour trips. There is a bar tender there but the service takes too long with the fru-fru coffee machine in there.

Everything but the food

The staff was exceptional, the entertainment was very enjoyable, if you are going there to lounge in the sun it is just what you want the only thing that I wasn't impressed with was the food. It wasn't terrible but was less edible then I expected.

Great Experience

Great experience overall. The service was great, nice and very helpful. Great pools, clean, entertainment, great food. Margerittas a bit too sweet, pool temperature was a bit too cold and beach isnt the best, but overall still a great hotel/experience and I would recommend it.
