Jam to live music at the restaurant of this 1950s property
Built in the 1950s, California Hotel has continuously showed the Mexican hospitality holidaymakers loved even after the renovation in 2001. Authentic Mexican dishes made with selected local ingredients are within reach at the on-site restaurant La Coronela Restaurant and Bar. Vacationers try restaurant specialties like eggs Benedict with smoked marlin and cilantro hollandaise, pear and gorgonzola pizza, lamb burger with caramelized onions, black pepper papardelle with arrachera beef and mushroom cream sauce while listening to ballads performed by local musicians at the hotel. By sunset, sample cocktails at the courtyard fountain or dance to upbeat music and live performances at the bar. Guests can also check out stores at Emporio Gallery and Store on site.

We loved it! This is definately a place for travelers and not tourists. No one waits on you hand and foot, there's no room service, TV or telephone. However, the surroundings, decorations, food and people are wonderful and unique. We felt like
it was a second home (and wish it really was!) So, if you want to get to know the culture, hang out on deserted beaches (just up the road), eat great food and share you time with fantastic people, don't miss it.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Get up, walk around and talk to people. Via car, there are numerous places to go and explore. Don't book your trip through [...], though, they suck! The last two trips we booked through them cost us a day of vacation each time and $$ to get their mistakes straghtened out. No matter how cheap they look don't do it!
