An OK place for the money
The first room smelled form mold and or pesticide. 2nd room OK. Also the partial ocean view was not as promised. Pics on the net were not a good rep. of actual conditions. Staff had to be reminded each day to fill the room bar. couldn't seem to remember we wanted diet coke and water. Only allowed 4 cokes a day? Staff were friendly but just didn't get it.. For an all inclusive it was different than any other. They had only one eve.meal in the reserved dining room for the week, and you had to pay for mundane orders. The food that was provided each day via buffet was almost OK. We both got Montazooooomas revenge the next day after arival and are still having problems at this wrighting (9 days later). There were mostly locals there so the pool was filled with a ton of screaming kids. Would go back same time but stay at a better hotel. Another thing that bugged me was the remote for the TV didn't work. After 2 exchanges we still had trouble. You couldn't even switch it manually??

LOVE THE AREA BUT NOT THE HOTEL
HOTEL: WAS NOT THE BEST. THE STAFF BARELY SPOKE ENGLISH AND A LOT OF TIMES DIDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE US. WHEN WE TRIED TO ASK ABOUT RENTING JET SKIS THEY WERE UNABLE TO HELP US. THE ROOM WAS OK BUT REALLY SMALL, AND DIDN'T PROVIDE A SAFE FOR OUR PERSONAL ITEMS. MEALS: WE HAD THE ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE BUT IT DID NOT INCLUDE A LOT. THE ONE EXCLUSIVE RESTAURANT WAS NICE BUT YOU CAN ONLY DINE AT IT ONCE PER VISIT. THE BUFFET DOES NOT OFFER A WIDE VARIETY OF FOOD CHOICES. ALMOST EVERYDAY THEY HAD THE SAME FOOD FOR DINNER, AND IT WASN'T ANYTHING SPECIAL. THE SNACK BAR WAS OK...BURGERS, HOT DOGS, NACHOS, BUT NOT EVERYTHING WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE BEACH: WAS NICE AND NOT TOO PACKED, WE WERE ABLE TO FIND GREAT SPOTS TO RELAX. ENTERTAINMNET: THE HOTEL SEEMS TO CATER MOSTLY TO SPANISH PEOPLE, SO IF YOU DON'T SPEAK SPANISH YOU DON'T ENJOY IT.

Family vacation
the hotel staff did the best with what they had to work with. We switched rooms 3 times, the 3rd time was a charm. The majority of the staff was limited on speaking English. So Communication was sometimes difficult. The room had no coffee makers, the fridge had 2 cans of pop and 2 water. No liquor was included. We did have a nice view of ocean, but only standing room on deck, no room to sit down. We did get a coffee maker on the 6th day of our trip due to other family members complaining. This was our 4th trip to Ixtapa, and I would not stay at this hotel again.

Not above, not below....just average.
Nice grounds, helpful, friendly staff! Beds and pillows were not so great! If the price was right I would stay again but overall it was nothing exceptional.

Small hotel but good!
A nice relaxing place for a vacation. The weather awesome, food was great, and easy walking distance to downtown shopping and eating places. Lots of local families at this resort. Hotel is older but was clean and employees ready to serve. Would go back.

Our vacation
04/13/2011 Just returned from a nine day stay at the Tesoro. First time there. It is an old hotel but very clean. All the staff is extremely nice and helpful. Not the largest buffet but enough to choose from. Not a swimming beach when we where there. Waves extremly large. Need fans in rooms. We sat on the beach for the whole trip. Nice chair pads on confy chairs.

family vacation
The staff were helpful at all times - they changed our room to another, better room when we were appalled at the noise level coming from the air conditioning units outside (they never change their decibel level);otherwise we would not have been able to open our balcony door. The food was good, but we had to buy bottled water for our room (go out to the market not the hotel shop)as you only get the first day's allotment in the frig and that's all.
