relaxing vacation getaway
The Las Brisas is a place to relax and rejuvenate. The views are spectacular. The weather is consistent with temps in the mid 80's. The rooms are large with a large bedroom area, a sitting room and a large balcony overlooking the Pacific. The hotel is well maintained with a very courteous and helpful staff. They all have smiles on their faces!! The food is very good with a wide variety at the breakfast buffet. I especially appreciated the wi-fi in order to use Skype to call home. Ixtapa is within walking distance and has some nice shopping areas. Zhuatinejo has excellent high end restaurants and is a cab ride away. There are plenty of tennis courts and several pools plus a large beach area. A golf course is across the street. This was our third stay and will return next year.

Great architecture!
we have been coming to Las Brisas for years. The architect, Legorreta, who recently died, designed this fantastic hotel in Ixtapa. Unlike every other highrise or grass hut fantasy, this terra cotta colored hotel sits in it's surroundings as if it always lived there. The pools are not amorphous shapes but rectilinear forms defining edges of vistas and framing jungle views. It is a large hotel but straddles the land with outdoor spaces, exterior jungle walks, and striking flights of exterior stairs ( elevators as well). Rooms are simple and have been updated a couple of years ago with the same abstract temperament of the hotel. Staff is friendly and memorable. This is not a club med type of activity driven hotel but rather a relaxed place to read, swim, and rest. We will keep coming back-great architecture is hard to come by these days-

Could be great, but the staff...
My expectations about this hotel were really high. And they were fulfilled when it comes to some facilities, the location, the room… but, the first thing you see is the staff. There was this guy, Carlos, at the front desk. He was bad-mannered since the very beginning, everything for him was “no”, “you can’t do this or that”. Any request I asked him was a denial. That was a very special occasion with my fiancée, and almost got ruined because of him. When we finally get into the room, the jacuzzi was not sealed and had a water outflow, the coffee machine had fungus on it, the phone was not working, the tv remote wouldn't change the channel, the deck lights were broken. They finally they send two technicians to fix these issues, but we lost about 2 hours on it… The next day, we dialed zero to check if we have breakfast included, they said Yes. So we asked for the restaurant passes and AGAIN Carlos... He said NO, because the reservation through 0rbitz we couldn't get breakfast… (That's true) and we didn't. The staff makes you don’t want to come back ever.

Paradise!
The hotel is in a great location, it has its private beach so it doesn't get croweded, the room was magnificent, we had one with jacuzzi in the terrace and it was wonderful to go back to the room after a day on the beach and relax at the jacuzzi. I don't have kids and I love the fact that there was a section of rooms for adults only. The views from the hotel were amazing. Staff was very friendly. The prices of food at hotel restaurants its a little high, and you don't get anything for free, no free internet, I will think that for the price of the room you will get something but I still like the place.

Great Place to stay
The hotel is located off the main tourist area so it is great if you are looking to get away to enjoy some quiet time. If you need some excitement, the downtown is accessible via walking, taxi or bus. The pools are great, but the Pacific Ocean is not swimmer friendly. The staff is outstanding as well as all of the restaurants onsite.

Indulge in R & R
This is the place to go to relax, literally, do nothing and unplug. It is a hotel, not an all-inclusive. Built into the side of a mountain and having its own private beach area, this is the place to just sit in the sun and unwind. It is a full service hotel with room service and pool side/ocean side bar service. It hits a medium price point and is exceptionally well maintained. This is NOT the place to go for adventure. But if you are stressed from the everyday world, this place has the plan for relaxing. It has an adult only pool, private beach front (waiter service at both) and full salon with massage service, pedicures, manicures. There are multiple restaurants w/different cuisine. And the lobby bar can't be beat for watching the sun set over the ocean.

In Hotel
Everything in the hotel is priced the same. Use of the mini-bar or stopping in one of the shops or restaurants - the prices are all the same. No need to worry about using the items in the room if you worry they are over-priced relative to everything else.

Great beach and view, but nothing to do
The first rooms they offered us didn't actually have a view of the ocean because it was blocked by trees. We requested a room change and we got one the following day. However, then our air conditioning didn't work and they were never able to fix it. We spent time on the beach, at Ixtapa Island and zip lining. We all got sick from the water, ice or food. Beautiful weather and sunsets, but not worth it!

We have stayed at Las Brisas many times in the last ten years. We have come to know many of the staff. We feel we are treated extremely well and will continue to return. We love the breakfast buffet and our lemonada with lunch.
