For a wonderful stay, stay here

I have to say I was a bit worried when I first arrived at the hotel as they are in the process of reconstructing this hotel. Pass the construction , just a short trip and you are greeted with the most awesome staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food for all inclusive was extremely good. My most noted feature is how wonderful the staff treats you so warmly. The restaurant staff is very attentive, always making certain you are receiving the very best service possible. The bartenders wow just wonderful. Had a great time and most definitely will return. If you are ISO a quiet relaxing vacation, this is definitely the place. Special mention to Carlos a great waiter , host and bartender. The service was a 10

Calm, relaxing hotel and beach

This was my 5th trip to Isla Mujeres and I got an all inclusive package this time. The buffet is not vegetarian friendly but I was not expecting that to be the case based on my travel experiences with other all inclusive packages. I would not do an all inclusive deal again on my next visit because I prefer going to the variety of restaurants the island has to offer. What I did eat from the buffet was very good. However, there were a few things I could have eaten on the snacks menu but every day I was told the kitchen was not serving all the options from that menu. I did feel like I had to go out of my way to be served a drink while on the beach, until the waiter got to know me and knew I would tip him. I do not like that every drink comes with a huge straw, and that most drinks came in small plastic cups. There were straws and crushed cups all over the beach. The beach is nice, but small compared to other beaches on that island. Every day about 30 small boats line up to let people out to snorkel and they all walk right past your chair to go under the bridge. I found that to be strange. They were doing construction on the hotel during my stay which did not interfere with the relaxing nature of the island. There were no mattresses for the bed swings but I assume they will eventually fix that. The room was very simple, comfortable for me to just shower and sleep in, but a little too simple compared to other hotel rooms I have been in on previous visits. As long as the rooms are clean and offer hot water for the showers, I am happy. I would recommend this hotel to a friend but I would definitely push to explore the restaurants instead of getting an all inclusive deal.

Needs alot of work

The entire resort is under renovation.... Rooms are small and very sparce. Our toilet was leaking but they did fix. Beds are very hard and when we arrived had only one bed and needed two. They could not relocate so put a roll away in room. The view was beautiful but no balcony and windows kinda dirty. Air conditioner sounded like a jet taking off too loud to run at night so a bit warm.

The good, the bad and the very ugly.

The Good. Beautiful location. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Contrary to some reviews, there was hot water and the rooms were clean. It is being updated and remodeled. The shady area problem was being corrected while we were there. Palapas were being added and by our third day a few beach umbrellas appeared. The Bad. Seriously, all inclusive EXCEPT drinking water!!!! $3 per bottle only at the front desk (the first is complimentary). The Ugly. Our flight arrived at 5 am in Cancun. I know check in is at 3 pm. I called and was told no problem. Might be a room that could not be rented and would not be cleaned, but we would have a place to put our luggage and valuables. I was told they would work out something for food and drink. They did none of the above. Luggage was left in the lobby. We were forced to buy breakfast. I gave them a credit card. I was told it was declined. I gave them another card and was told that was declined. After calling the credit card international division and being told there no charges submitted. I went back to less-than helpful front desk. After much discussion and a few more staff became involved, they agreed that the problem was not knowing how to submit the charge correctly. They promptly took a 2000 peso deposit, but told me I would have to wait a while before we could check in. We did eventually get a room and a very late lunch. Oh and we never got a welcome drink.

Great location, average hardware

The hotel is located on the small island surrounded with ocean and visitors could enjoy swimming in the sea easily. The hotel's bar and something else is still under construction and I guess it will be better after everything has done. However, the hardware in the room is not that great.

The service and the food quality are terrible

The service was very poor. The staff may be nice but they do the least to make you feel welcome. We chose the all-inclusive package. The food option were the same every day and the food quality was very poor. The service was terrible. The beds and pillows were not confortable at all. They were doing a lot of renovation and construction on the resort, so it was loud most of the time when you try to relax on the beach. Other than the poor quality service and the bad food, the location is awesome and the ocean water is beautiful.

Piece of Paradise

The hotel is undergoing renovation and therefore during the day there is construction happening and the noise can be annoying. When they get done it will be that much better. Go to this hotel for the pristine location in the island. Probably the best location. I did a lot of driving and exploring. The rooms are not top quality but they work. Mattress is not plush, and room looks dated. As long as you know what to expect, you will not be disappointed.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

It is worth renting a golf cart for 3 hours and going around the island. No need to rent for more than that. You can take 15 min walk to downtown where the restaurants and shops are.

Perfect Location and Beautiful Beach. Can't be picky about the Hotel if you stay here.

This hotel is in the perfect location on the island. Walking distance to the nightlife and restaurants. Prettiest beach on the island. Rooms in the hotel are less than stellar but you don't have to spend a lot of time in the rooms. The rooms were cleaned well but they are old. Beds are rock hard. If you ask for a mattress pad it helps a little. Running water in the shower was lacking in the morning when most people are up showering. We did all inclusive but I would recommend skipping this and enjoy the food on the island. There are so many good restaurants to choose from! Bring water bottles or something to get water back and forth to your room. Even with all inclusive you only get one bottle of water on arrival. Overall our stay was good. We are simple people and the hotel met our needs! We would stay again.

Soggy Peso is a must! We had the best fish tacos and ceviche at Picus on the main road where the boats are docked. El Patio is a fun spot at night and they have live music on the rooftop. Pita Amore was excellent. You must try Pescado on the rooftop near the grocery store and order their shrimp burritos. So many restaurants so little time!
