My experience

The hotel was very nice i liked the colorful furniturs in lobby area, great location surrounded by water. Staff were cleaning nonstop. Great relaxing experience and the hotel offered activities for free which was very nice. They were remodeling some areas, Hotel only had one dining area which was not my favorite,The food was ok for all inclusive not the best but they had grills to cook food too if you didnt like the other meals.

Couple Getaway

The Hotel was beautiful! it was under construction but it wasn't something that bothered us, all the areas we used were done! (Rooms, Lobby, Restaurant, pool) it was really worth the money! The food was really good and the service was great! everyone was very friendly. We were only there for 4 days, we rented a golf car which i personally wouldn't recommend just because the hotel is located on the live side of the island everything that is worth seeing is in walking distance ( Although I would recommend going out later during the day since its nicer out vs going out in the heat) I also STRONGLY recommend you going out for a late night snack after dinner at the hotel at least once around 10ish and then hanging out at the bars near all the restaurants its a great experience. The only thing really worth seeing on the other side of the island was the Mayan observatory I believe it was called....but just take a taxi. Also the taxi ride from the boat to hotel should only be 5 dollars don't pay more than that! I will say the only thing my boyfriend and I did semi complain about was the fact that the shower didn't have a shower curtain or a door....so the floor would get wet when we showered. I mean its really not that big of a deal, the ladies always cleaned it up in the morning. I am assuming they will eventually put door or/ curtains but because its since the rooms are so new they might just have that on the to do list. Overall I recommend the going! we fell in love with the island and hotel! Oh!!!! and try their Sangrias they are out of this world!

This is probably the most beautiful hotel on Isla De Mujeres. My wife and I went and had a wonderful time. I got food poisoning and I would return again. It's really that great.

great location

**First off, be prepared that ferry does not run 24 hours. If flight is early, you'll have to leave night before. Also taxi service gets scarce at night so may have to walk to ferry** Resort has an incredible location away from town, but within walking distance. First impression is overwhelming, but quickly declined. No one to help with bags upon arrival. It took a minute to find the ramp to roll luggage, and it was around the building to the lobby. Lobby is beautiful surrounded by glass, but no air conditioning so it's like a greenhouse effect. Got upgraded so my friend and I could have rooms by each other. cleaning ok, not exceptional. no on site gift shop/spa/gym/entertainment. it's just somewhere to stay. only one place to eat, which is buffet and closed from 12p-1p and 5p-6p. Manager in buffet was rude. Wi-Fi is very sketchy and only in lobby (occasionally in bar). Just don't expect too much for hospitality or extras. I don't think you can beat the location if you want off the beaten path.

4 day weekend

This is one of many trips to this hotel over the years. The updating looks great. Tastefully done. Place looks better than it has in years. The tower has been redone and it looks great and is a great value. The location is terrific for snorkeling in shallow water that is very clear and easy to access. Gear can be used at the hotel and is included. Security is great. Staff is friendly. Food is limited but breakfast was good with a standard buffet and lunch menu at the bar was also limited but good. The place is never over booked and seems to allow for a quiet experience with great location. Birds nest behind the hotel on the rocks below and are fun to watch. The area for snorkeling is great for young kids as it is so shallow and calm and the water so clear. At low tide the water is at most chest high in the deeper parts. If you want night life the bars and restaurants in town offer live music with a lively group of people without the spring break look or feel. Some good restaurants as well. Be sure to ask about the exchange rate if paying in US dollars. Liked the food at one newer place called Stingrays but it seems they have some growing pains. They did not mention when paying with US dollars that their exchange rate was only 12 to the dollar when the official rate was 15.5 to the dollar. Makes it a bit of a tourist trap for my taste, and hope my concern to them ends the practice of not posting or following a reasonable exchange rate. The island gives you a chance to meet the lovely people of the island including some traveling young people who seem to pass through on their world travels. Refreshing to meet such nice young people. I feel very safe on the island and have now each of the times I have been there even walking at night from the hotel to town. You will see many young women walking alone with confidence as well. As to the hotel, since it is on it's own island, it too is very very safe. It is nice to be able to take walks even late at night and enjoy the breezes and sounds of the island. One one hand I hope this hotel gets and keeps enough business to remain open as someone has spent a lot of money upgrading the place. They have done an excellent job. ( a new surface on the pool table in the bar would be nice) On the other hand it feels like a well kept secret as it never seems busy except in December and January as best I can recall. Their dinner menu could use some more variety but given the low number of rooms occupied sometimes, I can understand the lack of variety to avoid waste. That said if you want a night or two out to dinner in town, that is fun anyway. So breakfast and lunch at the hotel, and dinner in town half the time seems to work for me.
