Isla Mujeres Palace Beach Front - All Inclusive-Couples only

we saw only about 5 other couples there throughout our 5 day stay. swim up bar does not open til 11:00 am & even then u are lucky to get an employee there. Music was inconsistent and random. Food was okay, but not great. Poor evening entertainment.

Probably 3.5 Star. Downgrade on wine list. Downgrade on neighboring business (loud local bar/day resort with locals arriving on free boat ride from Cancun. Because it is on the Island with limited ferry service to Cancun, it was impossible to go into Cancun for the night life. Resort should have offered Mayan ruin tours, but did not. Dolphin encounter was first rate. Overall very nice and relaxing.

The hotel was clean, and the overall space was very relaxing. It was open, breezy, and quaint. The staff were nice. In general the island people are much nicer than the people in Cancun. My main complaint was that the food was not great and we ended up eating a lot outside of the hotel because downtown and around the island there are interesting restaurants and good street food. So I felt a bit guilty passing up free food at the hotel to eat in town, but there was much more in town to try than I expected and it was a good change of pace. But with that said, the drinks were flowing by the pool, and it was a short cab ride to the downtown so the hotel provided a decent base from which to explore the island. Next time, I would visit Isla Mujeres, but I might stay downtown rather than at an all inclusive. Another point worth noting, the nicest beach on the Island is Playa Norte, and the hotel's beach was small and unswimmable due to the sea weed. Beware if they invite you to a sales pitch in Cancun for the other Palace resorts, with the promise of hotel dollars to spend on activities. The deal sounded too good to be true and I overheard people in the pool who were very upset about getting invited to this sales pitch where the staff were very rude and agressive. We did not go to the sales pitch, despite the $750 in hotel cash that was offered, and we were very glad to have not wasted the day going into Cancun for it. Concerning tours, the hotel is not convenient for activities on the mainland. It is a taxi ride to port, a ferry ride, and another taxi to the cancun hotel zone in order to get on tours (i.e Chichen Itza, Tulum, etc). If you are not picky with food, and looking for a small all-inclusive place with a pool, then the Palace is ok. It is definitely better than anything you'll find in Cancun, but it is also not the only option for enjoying a week at Isla Mujeres.

The Palace Resort is one of the nicest places to stay on the island. The rooms were clean and roomy, the staff was wonderful and very attentive and the food and drink were great! It is a quiet resort since it is located on the end of the island not near the main town area. This was not an issue, though, since we rented a golf cart during the days we were there. Some nights were noisy from the karaoke and the club next door but would still stay here again due to all the pluses.

Okay so i really don't travel all that much but decided to get away with my 20 year old daughter. The staff was wonderful, knew your name from the time you walked in and went out of their way to make you feel very comfortable. This was not a party hotel. It was quiet and laid back. The island is small but between swimming with dolphins, snokling, fishing for Barracuda and scuba diving you can find many things to do. I did not want to come home. A perfect place for couples. I would go back again.

We had an absolutely fabulous time at this hotel. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of the loud beach club next door (ruined our candlelight dinner on the beach for our last night) and the very strange loud noises at night in the corridors (floor cleaners, furniture being moved, just don't know!). The people who work at this hotel are absolutely top-notch, the food is really good, the setting is paradise. But get out and enjoy the island - the people here are warm and friendly, not into ripping visitors off. Have a margarita on Playa Norte or go explore the sights. Absolutely beautiful!

Lovely facilities, charming rooms, good food and very friendly personnel. We'll return. Excellent value for your money.

This is a great hotel, on a quaint island. They have nightly activities, hosted by the very awesome and charismatic [...]. We visited the hotel in early July. We had one sunny day and the rest was spent indoors, avoiding the storms. I recommend this hotel, but I would also recommend doing more research about the weather on the Island and Cancun, before traveling! When it's raining, there's really not much else to do except drink and eat. Also, the food wasn't amazing, but it was plentiful.

We had so much fun! The staff was exceptional, they made us feel like we were the only people there. If you want a relaxing time we highly recommend this hotel.

best vacation ever! staff was fantastic, rooms were great. food was good, had ups and downs but over all, a good experience.
