Another Great Stay !

This is our 5th stay at the Camino Real Zaashila and every year it is great. The staff makes you feel like family, the room is clean and the view is like no other. If we had one complaint it would be that the beds need updated they are on the very firm side. After looking at many other lodging options we have yet to find a better value. We will be back next year !

I love this hotel

i have been staying here for over 15 years, and keep coming back, the ambiance, staff, food, beach, pools, and restaurants are fantastic - with or without children. The rooms are basic, but we don't normally stay there very long , given the wonderful surroundings of the hotel .

Bahia Tangolunda - Camino Real Zaashila

This resort is top notch. The swimming pool is one of the finest I've ever seen in a tropical resort and beach access is simple and safe. The staff were very friendly, spoke English, and they knew when to leave guests alone. The only problem I had with the room was how cold the floors were; air-conditioning is a must in the Huatulco heat, but you've got to wear slippers or socks in the room or else your feet will freeze. Also, they could have provided complimentary drinking water in the rooms. Instead they charged double the going rate for bottled water. Otherwise, I'd return to this resort in a heartbeat. Fantastic!

Good, but expensive accomodation

We stayed recently two nights at this hotel and it has quality on every corner, but you actually have to pay a lot for it, even on low-season. The fee does not include anything but the room and the towels for the pool or the beach. Wi-Fi is available but at a very expensive rate. (17 USD or some per day) In order to use the minibar or the safe deposit box on the room, a voucher needs to be open to be used by the administration for anything it can happen to them. About the room, it's large, with a comfortable king-size bed and cable tv with good channels (hbo and maxprime are included). The bathroom is also huge, has tube and its amenities are cool since are from Bath and Body Works. The pool is magnificent, we enjoyed a lot our swimming time. We couldn't stay in the beach because the sea was so rude that day. The details that made our stay not so great were: The night of our arrival and yet installed on the room, we reported a large column of little black ants making their way into our bedroom, from the door to the window. The clerk sent us a cleaning lady who mop the ants and dispersed insecticide. The same problem repeated the night after. Every day or our staying, in the morning, two ladies (not the cleaning ladies) checked our bedroom, looking if we had consumed anything from the minibar or the water bottles in the bathroom. I understand they have to do it, but I find it uncomfortable for the guests because this can be done while the making of the room. The last thing: when we were leaving the hotel, I asked the bellboy to help me get a taxi to the airport. He got me a very expensive one. It was going to charge me 350 MXP for the ride and I protested because I told them that two nights before, a taxi charged me 250 MXP but from a distant town (Pochutla) to the hotel's gate! The distance from that town to the hotel is considerably greater than the hotel to the airport. So,as the transport was property of the hotel they adjusted me the fare and finally paid 180 MXP for the service. Anyway, it's a good place to stay and rest, but could be better if more things were included with the fares.

Try not to use the hotel's taxi to the airport. They are quite expensive. Better ask for a cab from a base

Relaxing getaway

We visited in first days of September for 5 days- resort was very quiet since, apparently, it was a low tourism time. So our time spent was very relaxing - which is what we were looking forward to. There are three restaraunts at hotel- however, there was only one avaialble at any given time - so choices on where to eat at hotel were limited. There are places close by (town of Crucecita, 10 minutes by taxi at 30 pesos) with markets, shops, and restaraunts. Due to storms and high danger surf conditions, we were not able to tour the bays of Huatulco. Location right on the beach is why we chose it - nice! Sea turtles hatched during our stay! Would stay here again if back in Huatulco!
