The hotel is a very good choice when you're visiting Guanajuato. Not a walking distance to town center, but it offers free and reliable shuttle bus service to town. You have to take a taxi back, but taxis are abundant and very inexpensive (about
$2.5). The hotel is beautifully situated, with great views, and old hacienda gardens around to enjoy. The rooms are large, with views, half of them with balconies. Very good quality. There is a nice pool area, but I didn't use it. The restaurant on-site is OK and convenient. Staff is very helpful, some speak good English.
One of the reasons I chose the hotel was the wireless access. It was great the first night, and then it went down. I inquired at the desk and was told that it was up to the telephone company to fix the problem and they would be working on it the following day. In the meantime, there was no internet access available, and the hotel didn't seem to own up to the problem. I do need to mention that there are lots of Internet cafes in Guanajuato center.
I would strongly recommend the hotel for your stay in Guanajuato.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
the buffet breakfast is served between 7 am and 10 am and it offers a nice selection of foods, including eggs and fresh fruit. Good price at 100 pesos (Pril 2010)
