beautiful hotel for the price
I was in gudalajara for medical reasons. The reservation had been booked Under incorrect dates the hotel staff quickly accomodated me and placed me in A wonderful room. The rooftop pool and bar area was a nice reprieve from Hotel lobby area which was generally full because of a wonderful resteraunt. So I could order from resteraunt and they would serve me upstairs. I do not speak spanish. The staff was very flexible and always had someone who spoke english or could at least communicate with me. Hotel was right in the middle of Cultural ditrict so in between doctors appointments I was within walking distance to loads of entertainment. It is not 5 star but a really cool hotel for a great price.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
For 100 pesos ask to be taken to tonala on Sunday or Thursday for open air market. Or for 800 pesos you can be taken on a guided tour to lake chapala. Mexico's largest lake. I did both of these and had a great time. Plus the tequila toour fo 300 pesos. They pick you up at hotel.

Buyer Beware!
This hotel bears very little resemblance to its description;[...]. the staff does not communicate in English well, the hotel is noisy and full of screaming children; the elevators do not stop at all floors and some walking is sometimes required, the rooms are sparse like dormitories: I had to request soap and toilet paper as well as extra towels because the bathroom flooded each time I took a shower. The pool is very small and always full of small children; it cannot be enjoyed by adults - the power went out one night and was without lights, the Internet is slow and unreliable - I would not recomment this hotel to all but the most foolhardy guest

La Chata, just a few blocks away, has the best food I ate in Guadalajara. There is always a line to get in - I waited about 20 minutes - but it is so worth it. Get the pozole with pork!!

Great price in the heart of the city
We travel to Guadalajara 1-2 times every month and we will definately stay here again. The rooms were misrepresented online claiming each room has a bath tub, none of the rooms have one. Other than that error the hotel was exactly what we expected from the description and photos. The staff were friendly and accomidating. We were very surprised to find such a beautiful pool and patio on the roof of the hotel unused, so we enjoyed it and the spectacular views. The room is very basic and we had to request more than the one towel that was provided, but it is clean and had a mini fridge. We especially enjoyed being able to walk to all our favorite destinations in the historic district.
