Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at.

I was very dissapointed by this hotel. When I arrived at the hotel it seemed rundown and old, the photos on the hotel website [...] were very decieveing. [...] When I got to my room I was even more dissapointed. The carpet was very dirty and soiled that I didn't walk on it without shoes. T he toliet seem to have issues with the water running all night. The shower was not cleaned well, the towels were dirty and looked like they were not cleaned properly, the beadspread was torn and seem to have some short of red stain. [...]I will never [...] stay at the Costa Baja Hotel. And further more I will inform my friends and family to stay away from this hotel in Ensenada [...].

OK if roughing it

Our room was just above the reception desk, near the bar, and over the pool area. Nearly all day long, and one night until 2200, loud music blared from one or other of these locations. Nearly impossible to get an afternoon nap. Other than that, the rooms were moderately clean and comfortable. Good location, very nice jacuzzi near pool, and the price was right.

great food and price

The room was nice and clean. The only problem was that from 12:00 to 3:00 AM there was so much noise that it was hard to sleep. Next time we will ask for an inside room.

Great Hotel!

The hotel was very clean, which surprised me considering it was easily the best price in town. Although, it was the staff that made sure I would always return to this hotel. After one of our group didn't show up after a night out the staff jumped to our aid calling all the hospitals and the police and even okay-ed us checking out late if he didn't show up before noon. By the way, he was fine and eventually showed up.

Affordable, good location in Ensenada

The hotel is very, very affordable - so I don't understand other reviews who pay basement prices and still complain. Were there mints on the pillow? No. Was this hotel worth the money? Definitely. Would I stay here again? Yes. The hotel rooms were basic and fairly clean. I rode my motorcycle down from California and it was secure in their underground parking lot all weekend. The hotel is a 10- to 15-minute safe walk from Ensenada's main shopping and dining district. Along the way, there is a bazaar, fish market and Plaza de la Patria to break up the walk. The pool was OK, but the hot tubs weren't working. There is a restaurant and nightclub on the premises, but I didn't attend either. An art museum is across the street, but it was closed that weekend due to a holiday. The staff was also very nice. If you only speak English, don't bother with hotel employees. Go straight to the front desk. Again, this hotel is a great deal for those who want a basic room to sleep in. When I return to Ensenada, I will probably stay here again.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Just like anywhere else in Mexico, stick to the taquerias - or taco stands - to eat cheaply.
