Rooms
Glossy marble floors, pale blonde wood furniture and a cloud-colored bed echo the tone set by the white sandy beach outside. All of the 348 rooms at the Park Royal Cozumel hotel have their own private balcony; an ocean view adds an aqua focal point to the room’s already beach-y interior. All rooms have a full bathroom with hair dryer and vanity mirror, a 27-inch flat-screen TV with cable, individual climate control and a telephone.Dining
Meals are served a la carte in two restaurants, which serve Mexican or Italian food in their respective elegant settings (a dress code applies). More casual, buffet-style dining takes place on the veranda near the pool. Five bars are peppered around the Park Royal Cozumel hotel, providing poolside snacks and refreshments.Recreation
Snorkeling and diving expeditions allows gorgeous exploration of the second-largest coral reef in the world. An underground walkway takes guests of the Park Royal Cozumel hotel safely across the street to the beachfront area. An open-air theater has nightly shows. Three swimming pools may be used for languid laps -- but one is designated for kids.Transportation

Poor experience
To start on the positive side - our maid did a great job, room was clean and welcoming w/ lovely towel-swans. However, the food was mediocre at times even w/ a rotten taste. The service in the Mexican restaurant was appallingly slow. I would not advise to go on the little sales "tour" promising bunch of discounts on scuba diving or scooter rentals in return for your time. Sol y Mar scooter place is a bunch of crooks. At first they make you sign the paper telling you that you have full insurance, then the guy writes over your signature 350$ deductible. When you return the scooter w/ a slight scratch which I am not sure wasn't there before - they start w/ asking for 120$, then 45$, then 30$. Total rip-off. Entertainers do everything to fill your time w/ their agenda, which gets quite annoying. If not for the great scuba diving w/ Scuba Gamma whom I would highly recommend - customized scuba experience for 6 at the most divers - the trip would have been quite a disappointment.

horrible service!
The mirror in our hotel room fell while my husband and I were sitting on the balcony. The hotel told us they didn't believe it would just fall and charged our credit card $450 before we could check out of the hotel or leave Mexico. I am LIVID at the management staff at this hotel. Worst customer service I have ever experienced! !!!

My review of Park Royal Cozumel - All Inclusive
We did not receive all of our phone messages. We did not get any Housekeeping for 2 days and when we called down for more towels it took 1 1/2 hours to get any. As far as dining goes - we wish there would have been I more restaurant that you did NOT need reservations for and could dress casually.

Vacation
We stayed at the Park Royal in Cozumel. We were not very satisfied with the staff because we had asked for a king size bed and they said that they did not have any available and there was a room about 4 doors down from our room that was empty that hade a king bed in it. I had asked for about 2 days and never got any response from them. Also there was a day that we had to take cold showers and the next day we did not have any HOT water at all for about 8 HOURS.

There are Better All-Inclusives!
The Park Royal Cozumel was a nice new facility (rebuilt after hurricane Wilma). However what we expected for the money was somewhat disappointing. The second we arrived the staff hounded us with timeshare and sales propaganda while we had to wait because our room was not ready when we showed up at 5pm! Nonetheless, the selling does not stop when you get in the door, they were constantly asking if we had changed our minds and they conveniently set up sales booths all over the resort. All inclusives usually provide some sort of mini-bar or refridgerator in the room, they did not have one nor did they supply any bottled water, we had to go to the local deli or corner store to get one and then the bar at the pool would refill it. The rooms are nice, hards beds, good views but NO bath/hot tub! Our safe wasn't working and no one knew how to fix it. The food was tasteless and options were limited. They DO NOT have room service. When going to Cozumel, choose another all-inclusive or get a good deal on a local joint and go out!!! Cozumel is a cute town!

Beautiful Grounds - Pool & Restaurants not so great
The room was fine, the grounds were beautiful, but the pool water was disgusting. An oil slick with bubbles floated on top of the water. Yuk! The entertainment was very poor.

The location of the hotel ...
The location of the hotel was really dessapointing. The beach area is very different that other beaches that I have stayed in other Cozumel Hotels. The Hotel does not have a restaurant open at covenient hours, we felt like we were at a kids camp, We had to eat at their convenience or got stocked with horrible hamburgers and pizza. The hotel does not have any night adult entertainment so we had to go to town in the evenings. The hotel restaurants are outside so on a rainning day you could not get to them. The rooms were confortable and clean.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE...........
We paid for an upgraded room with ocean view. We didn't get it even though we PAID for it. We were told those rooms were closed but the second day we were there, others were assigned those rooms. No matter how many times we asked (about 7-10) we were denied. We were told if we purchased their TIME SHARE and became members we would get what we paid for but otherwise we weren't getting anything. The food is awful and it's always the same things. Who wants FISH for breakfast? We were very disappointed and will not stay at this resort again. We were sad because we stayed here in 2/2008 and it was fabulous. We brought our teenagers back and this is the way we were treated. Stay somewhere else!

Be sure to count your change!
Every thing was fine except when I tried to change a US $50 for pesos... The front desk clerk quickly slid my $50 into a drawer and tried to give me $20 worth of pesos... When I challenged him he told me I gave him a $20 and I asked him to re-open his drawer... He did and we found my $50 in his pile of $20's. His rapid movement to take the $50 off the desk and rapidly slip it into the drawer slamming the drawer as soon as the bill was out of sight made me believe he was practiced at moving the money out of sight quickly. Only then did he start talking to me about how I could be helped. On the last evening, the AC was inoperative in our room.
