Rooms
Spanish colonial charm provides elegance to the Occidental Grand Cozumel - All Inclusive rooms, from the dark wood furniture to the wrought-iron railings on the terraces. Sunny-yellow walls and printed bed spreads allow green and blue hues to come from the garden or pool views. Upgrading to a Royal Club suite provides access to a private pool, and rooms include hydro-massage bathtubs, luxurious linens and pillows, Etro toiletries, nightly turndown service and plush robes.Dining
The six on-site restaurants offer a range of options from grand buffet-style dining to romantic a la carte meals. There are three bars for easy libation access throughout the Occidental Grand Cozumel - All Inclusive hotel. Major steaks are on the menu at Sonora Grill. A Mediterranean menu is served at Los Olivos. For a hearty breakfast or dinner with lots of choices, graze the buffet at La Posada. Serious adult-only dancing and drinks are enjoyed at La Misión Bar & Disco.Recreation
The three pools at the Occidental Grand Cozumel - All Inclusive hotel have different functions; one serves the Kid’s Club (ages four to 12), another activities and scuba classes, and the third is designated for relaxation only. Luxury for less
The Occidental Grand is a very quiet resort with lots of amenities. the spa and fitness center are great for a resort. I think that the staff were pretty friendly. They had great fish at all restaurants (wasnt crazy about the beef). I think that overrall, its a great small luxury resort that will take you away from all the noise and hasstle of a busy life!

definately relaxing
First trip to Cozumel. The resorts and beaches are smaller than we are used to (mainland Mayan Riviera)Not quite as much to do, but very relaxing. We took our 17 year old son - who had the time of his life (he is very outgoing). This seemed to be the best resort there. Jeep trip to "the other side" was great. It was a great vacation and the resort was fine. Really nothing to complain about!

Beautiful, very friendly staff
This is our first time at an all-inclusive and overall we were very pleased with the accomodations. The staff was excellent and friendly. The hotel grounds were clean, well kept, colorful, awesome. The restaurants were fair to good. Breakfast was very nicely done at their main restaurant. Lunch was not as good; however our two teen daughters thought is was fine. Be careful to book dinner reservations as you check in because they will not accomodate without them even though there is plentiful seating. La Piazza is not where you want to have dinner. The rest of the restaurants were fine.

Family Vacation
Great friendly staff. Kids club for my 6.5 year old and other entertainment well run, but I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the hotel grounds (my child might have gotten lost). Winds blowing from the South in mid April kicked up sand in the water so we missed the crystal clear carribean water - big disappointment - but we were told it was unusual. Hotels on the north side of town were not affected by this.

In Hotel
Bring your own snorkel gear, even though its all inclusive the dive shop was stingy with it and would not allow leaving the hotel with the equipment. ALso worth it to go concierge level or better to get room closer to beach and pools. Front desk staff clueless but royal club concierge great.

Fabulous Getaway Spot
We went down there for a destination wedding. We are so glad that we went because the wedding was beautiful. The nightlife on the resort was alot of fun. Great DJ! The food was also great! Love the guacamole...I ate it with everything. The room was very comfortable and clean. The shower was amazing!!! Would recommend this resort to anyone.

What a deal!
The resort compound is absolutely beautiful, with a location that can't be beat. The staff are friendly and attentive. The beach is manicured and pristine. Never did we feel that we were being pressured for tips or expected to pay beyond our booking price (although the staff were so quick and helpful that we did tip once in a while). I can't wait to go back! The only negative point I think all the guests agree on is that the food could be better. The variety and quality of ingredients were good, but they need a few better chefs!

Relaxing Vacation
My teenage daughter and I enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Occidental Grand during the month of June. I have the following comments: -the beach is fantastic (the sand is clean, white and soft; there are no unpleasant rocks unlike the the hotel to the south) -from the beach you can arrange snorkeling and dive tours, wave runner rental, and parasailing among other activities -the snorkeling tour was reasonable at about $30 a person and we enjoyed it so much we went a second time -the garden and landscaping is impressive; it feels like a tropical paradise; there are a number of iguanas and birds on the property -the food is average; we enjoyed the breakfast buffet the most (good selection of fruit and great scrambled eggs), followed by the dinner buffet and lastly the lunch buffet -the staff is friendly and welcoming -the rooms are clean and spacious -the bartenders are excellent and fast -the pool volleyball organized by the staff is fun I don't have any negative comments about our stay with one exception. The day we arrived, we were offered an opportunity to have breakfast with a sales person to receive "information" in exchange for a discount on a snorkeling tour or something or the other. I didn't want to waiste my time listening to a timeshare pitch. I thought the representative was a little pushy and sensed a change in his friendly demeanor after I turned down his invitation. He conclued by saying that my wife really needed to be there to make the decision. That was irritating but humorous at the same time.

Enjoyable visit
We had a great time relaxing, snorkeling, jet skiing, parasailing, scuba diving, ATXing, relaxing, relaxing, relaxing! We've stayed at their other hotel, the Allegro, and like them both. The rooms are well kept and the hotel's decor is nice. The location is out of the town and that is what we wanted. The only thing we disliked about the hotel is the same thing we always find in Mexico resorts, hard beds! It's like sleeping on concrete everywhere we go.

Be sure to have dinner one night in town at Winston's. It's American owned, the food is excellent and the new location (formally Pasta Prima) is fantastic on the water with beautiful sunsets at the top of the building.

Beautiful grounds, great staff
We booked this trip as our 10th anniversary present and were very excited to chill on the beach and do NOTHING for a whole week! And that's exactly what we did. While there are plenty of opportunities for many, many excursions we just enjoyed the beautiful beach and crystal clear Carribbean Sea. The wait staff, bartenders and housekeeping were extrodinary! The grounds are gorgeous, lush and tropical. How fun to have an iguana greet you every day as you walk out the door! The snorkeling right off shore is great but you should go out a bit and see the barracuda and rays. Lots of free activites too, like windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, boogie boards. We were dissapointed we couldn't get a king bed, only 2 doubles but made due. The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The beds were very hard but I suppose that's to be expected. The food was fine, not great but certainly not bad. The friendliness of the wait staff and bartenders, again, was superior. DEFINITELY would visit again.
