Fantastic-Highly recommend
My wife and I are travelers that go it alone and depend on meeting other people to mingle with when we go to resorts. This place offers all that we want. We have gone to Cozumel 3 times and are really satisfied with our stays. The Melia staff and resort as a whole I give 2 thunbs up. Very friendly and accomidating. I played golf almost everyday we were there and the Nicholas course is very challenging. take a lot of balls. If you miss the fairway you will not be getting it back. We love the beach and the food areas. The swim up bar is restricted to adults only . The children are on the beach or on the other side in their own pool. We have nothing against children but when we go on vacation we do like the seperation. I hope your experience with this resort are as ours have been. We will go again and again.

Get there early to make your reservations for dining and to get an early tee time. The cruise ships come in arouond 9-10 am so you want to be on the course before they get there.

Good Hotel...
We had some issues with the hotel upon arrival. The room we booked was supposed to be a king bed jr. suite and we ended up with a room with 2 double beds... my husband was not happy and the staff was not accomodating when we asked to change rooms. We ended up enjoying our room regardless. The staff was nice and the food was okay but the beach bar was amazing and there was plenty of things to do. We loved the beach volleyball, snorkeling, and going into town. Golf was amazing... we felt like we were on a wildlife retreat but the staff at the golf course tried to charge $100 to rent a cart... we payed $30.

had its pro's and con's...
Rooms were clean and nice. The pool and beach was well kept and relaxing. The food was... well not so good. Tolerable but not great. One night our group waited for over 2 hours for our food at one of the restaurants. They could not seat us any earlier than 8:30 any of the nights that we tried to make a reservation. There was very little to do at night. I would recomment this hotel to families or people looking for a quiet getaway where you wont likely gain much weight!

Honeymoon at Melia
The property was really well kept and the paradise suite was nice being oceanfront but the food and the staff were not. The majority of them were very inattentive. When compared to El Cozumeleno which is next door; I would rank El Cozumeleno higher. We did however have a blast and enjoyed all the excursions outside of the resort.

Cozumel Experience
The hotel was very nice. The staff was great. The buffet had a lot of options to choose from. The snack bar wasn' t bad. The beach at the resort was nice but the water was not as blue and clear as the hotel next over had, so we snorkeled there. The scuba diving wasn' t the greatest. They took us near the cruise ships. The snorkling at the Holiday hotel was better than the scuba diving.

Don' t pay to go snorkling at Chakannaab beach. $21.00! A rip off. Plus the beach was very tiny. Don't use the ATM at the hotel. They charge way more than the ATMs in the Omega supermarket. The other supermarket Cherudi had cheaper electronics and everything (our friend had to replace their camera).

A Let Down
I took my wife to Cozumel for a 40th birthday present and was looking forward to a short, romantic trip back to the island we fell in love with many years before. After doing some checking, I was able to book a reservation for the same hotel we stayed at the last time that we had been there, although the name had changed from The Paradisis to Melia. Our experience at the Paradisis was incredible; the food was great, the room was beautiful and the service was great. Unfortunately the same could not be said this time. At really started after check in, when the junior suite we were given had two double beds, rather than a king bed. When I inquired with the front desk they said they were fully booked and there was really nothing they could do. I can take partial responsibility for this since I did not specifically request a king bed when we checked in. I just figured that since we were traveling as a couple, that is what we would get. The shower leaked huge puddles on the floor every time we used and we had to use towels stuffed along the side in order to stem the flow of water. Our toilet also didn't flush to well, but maintenance was able to fix that. The food was also not great; in fact mediocre at best. At the buffet, it was often not hot and the consistency left a lot to be desired. We booked a reservation at the Cafe Parisis, there onsite upscale restaurant and our meal was a strangely textured chicken rolled up with spinach and cheese inside it and a fillet that was about as far from being a fillet as one could imagine. It was large and flat, chewy and and both dishes were covered with the same gravy, which also was not good. On the upside, the views were fantastic as was the beach and pool. We also enjoyed the drinks from the bar. And the weather on the island just can't be beat.

Great Sandy Beach.
One of just a few resorts on Cozumel that has a natural sand beach that continues right into the water. Very nice to walk along the beach, can go quite a distance beyond resort property and still be on sandy beach. Never any problem getting beach chairs at this resort. You do not need to go down at 6 AM to claim a chair like you have to do at some other resorts.

great golf
The hotel was great in every aspect except for the food. Great room, amazing friendly and English-speaking staff. Pool, restaurants, etc. all on the beach, well layed out. The golf course was fantastic. The food was awful and by the end of the trip we were just cabbing into town to eat at the local restaurants which were delicious. More of a family and older couple resort.
