Great Value, Nice first night in Cozumel
We had a nice "first night" stay in Cozumel on our way to one of the resorts. From this hotel it is easy to explore the rest of the city. We'll be back if the price is as competitive as our last stay!

Great Boutique Hotel in Paradise!
I stayed here with two friends for a 4 day weekend. It was so nice. The hotel is pretty, has a nice continental breakfast, helpful staff & is in a nice location near delicious restaurants. They were doing a bit of construction on the stairs near our room in the morning which was a little noisy but not too bad. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great hotel, lots of character
Perfect hotel with lots of character (unlike your standard "Best Westins", etc. Perfect for those who don't want to be stuck in all-inclusive but explore the area. We rented a car and snorkeled at lots of beaches. All we wanted from a hotel is being clean, friendly and provide a breakfast. We got all these five star! Breakfast choices and quality are great and for only $2. Rooms are spacious and very clean. I wish they had a bit more storage space/shelves for suitcases. It does matter for those staying longer than couple days (we stayed for 2 weeks). Also I would add a couple more shelves and hooks in the bathroom. But again, those minor things don't matter much. Overall our experience was great!

Awesome little hotel
It was our first visit to Cozumel, we were wanting a place within town and something accessible to restaurants and shops... we weren't disappointed. It was a short ten minute ride from the airport in taxi, the hotel is situated half a block from the waterfront. Everything within the ''city" town (shops, restaurants, plaza, cafes, 7/11, etc...) is located within a short walking distance. One can also take a 2 dollar taxi ride to San Miguel's huge grocery store La Commercial where one will find all sorts of snacks and goodies as well as essential toiletries (shampoo, biodegradable sunscreen. etc.). The hotel itself although not a three star is extremely nice and comfortable. The staff is superb! [...]our housekeeper always left our room spotless and made sure to leave us plenty of towels. [...], the hotel's bartender always greeted us with a smile and friendly conversation, and I must say he makes some of the best margaritas we've ever tasted! The hotel serves a basic continental breakfast of toast and fruit, with excellent strong yummy coffee. Overall, The Flamingo is a lovely little hotel with a gracious-friendly staff and above all, it's conveniently located... especially for a first timer to the island. The only thing we would suggest would be a large mirror or vanity within the room since the only mirror we had was in the bathroom. Also, the air conditioning was set to where we couldn't change the temp in the room and we often had to switch it off before bed because it would get too cold. Other than that, we would highly recommend this little hotel to anyone... We want to come back to Cozumel next year and we plan on staying at Hotel Flamingo once again.

We Loved This Place
We arrived at the Hotel Flamingo after staying at a much larger, somewhat isolated upscale hotel on the North side of the island just to savor the local town flavor for a few days. If we go back to Cozumel, we'll be staying at the Hotel Flamingo. The staff was absolutely great! It was like staying at a friend's house. The little bar was perfect for the two of us, the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The little restaurant, "Jeannie's" served out not only the best breakfast we had eaten on Cozumel,(Try the Waffles Benedict!),but Jeannie gave us great advice as to where to go to eat at the best local spots during our explorations of the island and town. Unlike some of the places we have been, the staff gave honest answers about places worth bothering with and those not which really enhanced the experience and saved a lot of time. Ivan, the bartender, not only made great drinks, but saved us money with his ready advice and precise directions about what was worth seeing and what was not. Xantal, the gal at the front desk, made sure we didn't get ripped off any time we took a taxi, making sure we knew what was a decent fare and what was not. The location is great if you want to be just outside of the raucus activity, but like the option of jumping into the fray with a short walk if the mood hits you. It's just on the other side of the Plaza from where the Cruise Ships disgourge their hordes of Temporary Tourists so you can choose to participate or not and don't have to deal with the crowds if you don't wish to. For the price, it was by far the best bargain we found on Cozumel. We loved it!

Not Applicable
Shop around online prior to going if you intend to rent a vehicle to see the island. Many of the "Rentals" are re-tread well-used vehicles that will cost too much for what you get and detract from the experience. Ask the year and condition of what you are getting and get a confirmed quote about the price. It's easy to pay way too much for a vehicle there as well as get saddled with an unsafe one.

Great location but noisy
Friendly, helpful staff and nice Continental Breakfast with rooms. Most rooms face a courtyard where there is an open bar and it can get very noisy well into the evening. Location doesn't get better, just a block to the ocean and within walking distance to the ferry dock.

Better than expected
The Flamingo was a pleasant surprise. It is walking distance to nice restaurants and shops, and just a block from the seawall. There are lounge chairs on the rooftop, with a great view of town and the water. I've been to Cozumel about 20 times, have rented a house and stayed in "fancier" hotels, but enjoyed this hotel the most. It is not a party place, but great for anyone wanting to relax in a quiet atmosphere, and have easy access to town. It is a short cab ride to snorkeling/ diving spots, and a short walk to many bars and restaurants.
