Good place, but watch what you pay them. Last year me and a couple of guys went for a week for $1200 all inclusive including air fare. For that price the place was awesome. This year they want $1900 for the same length of stay. For that kind of money you can ride a cab 5 min longer to a much finer resort. They only had 2 restaraunts, food was just ok, always ate fish or chicken, but because it was cheap, no one complained, but now they want a top $ because of these good reviews, at that kind of price they will go down the hill, you have to cross a busy street to go to beach. With guys i was ok, but with family we stayed at OCC Grand with was a lot more fine and more money at the time, now they are almost the same price

the hotel staff is always friendly and helpful. the food is not 5 star but i have no complaints, it was a good breakfast, lunch and dinner. the bar tender kept the drinks coming. the dive shop is very easy to dive with and i think they put safety on the top of the list. fyi take a dive computer for longer bottom time.the dive masters like for you to have one. they will let you dive your computer and for some of you air hogs they do offer 100 size tanks and also nitrox.

relaxing getaway
We enjoyed out stay at the Fiesta Americana. We found the staff to be very helpful. They were very tolerant of our butchering of the spanish language. The staff at the restuarant were helpful. Do need to plan for the inbetween closing of one resturant and the opening of the other during the day there will be a short period of time 30 minutes are so that if you get hungry you would have to use room service.

Cozumel 2012 Dive Trip
We stayed at Casa Mexicana last year and it was good. But we came to dive this time and Fiesta Americana became our new home away from home. The staff was outstanding...the food was AWESOME contrary to any other post. We have nothing but the highest rating for the staff of Fiesta Americana and the Dive House dive shop....Dive House DM were outstanding...they were safe...friendly...constantly watching you as well as showing you all of the underwater wonders... 5 Stars...it doesn't get any better than this...and it is ALL Inclusive...by your 2nd day the staff will know your name as well as your drink order at breakfast...and the bar...Can't go wrong. DO IT !!!

Shows at the hotel were great...food was great...diving was great...view from an ocean view room was awesome. Take Money and go to Coconuts 1 day...skip downtown.

Great family dive vacation
Will definitely take the family back for our next dive trip. The accommodations are nice and the location is great; close to town without all of the people and traffic and close to some of the best dive sites. The food was good - not five star certainly a great value; room service was convenient and timely. The Italian restaurant was nice as well (only open select evenings). Certain menu items were at an additional charge (Lobster, steaks, wines); this was very clear on the menu - don't let this keep you from enjoying this hotel. Depending on the time of year you will want to bring insect repellant when dining outside. We arrived in late May; no problems during the day. However, at night there were hungry misquotes. This would not keep me from coming back and is certainly not exclusive to the Fiesta Americana. My wife and I can't say enough good things about the staff. From the time you arrive until the time you leave they are alway gracious and helpful; on the beach, in the restaurants, by the pool, etc... We reserved two rooms and requested (via e-mail) that they be connected to keep the family together. I received a quick response confirming my accommodation had been met. Snorkeling was fantastic at the hotel. Plenty of marine life to see when not diving (bring an underwater camera). The on-site dive shop was great; very accommodating. This was my children's (13 and 17) first ocean dives. The dive masters were great. Dive boats leave the hotel pier twice a day for morning and afternoon dives. Night dives are Monday-Wednesday-Fridays. Would definitely recommend staying at the Fiesta Americana. Great value.

Off the beaten path
This hotel is a $20 round trip taxi ride from downtown, and it is rather isolated. there is one bar/grill that you can walk to. The meal hours were very good, and the food selection was adequate. Bring your own large, insulated, water bottle. We would have liked cookies or ice cream for dessert and non-spicy foods, lunch meat or peanut butter sandwiches at lunch would have been nice for the kids. Low sugar cereal (i.e. plain corn flakes or cheerios) in the morning could be added. It was very easy to get bar service. We got drinks delivered to our hammocks. There is not much entertainment on site. However, there were two guys wearing only sombreros in the ocean side pool, on our last day of our trip. I think they had too much tequila.

Barter. They usually will take half of what they offer first. Have cash. Traveler's checks did not work well, especially at the hotel. The hotel has safety deposit boxes, but we did not know this until check out.
