Beachfront elegance, close to downtown San Miguel
The all-inclusive El Cozumeleno Beach Front Resort offers excellent snorkeling, fine dining and an elegant location: across the street from Cozumel Country Club and its award-winning PGA-approved golf course. Families play together on the mini-golf course or in the kid’s activity center and separate pool. There may not be a reason to leave the property, but if one chooses, downtown San Miguel is just a short taxi ride away.Highlights
- Three pools, waterfalls and a beachfront with excellent snorkeling
- Kid’s activity center and mini-golf course allows families to play together
- Fine dining and all-day room service available
- Donatello´s Disco & Karaoke bar for adult-only late-night fun

Rooms
Each of the El Cozumeleno Beach Front Resort’s 252 sun-drenched rooms comes with views of the ocean or a patio at the garden level. The adults-only deluxe rooms have an extra-large wraparound balcony and come furnished with a loveseat, wing chair and two-chair dining set, all of which allow for cozy in-room entertaining.Dining
Reservations are required at La Veranda, which has a la carte fine dining -- and a dress code. El Cocal Restaurant serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with stunning views of the Caribbean. A poolside snack bar lets El Cozumeleno Beach Front Resort guests graze all day and a lobby bar has top-shelf drinks and dominoes for adult play.Recreation
A kid's activity center and mini-golf course provides hours of fun for families vacationing together. Get revved up on the tennis courts, then completely unplug at the hammock stations. A fitness center and beachfront aerobics classes provide ample opportunities to elevate one's heart rate -- as do the underwater views one sees while snorkeling. Unbeatable for the price
We had a wonderful vacation in Cozumel. The El Cozumeleno was very comfortable. The rooms were not fancy but were sufficient. IF you are looking for luxurious towels--don't go here. But the room was clean and cool ( the temperature was about 85 all week. The food was ok--the wait staff was most accomodating, the fajitas were the best bet in the El Cocoa for lunch. The beach was wonderful and accessible. There were many pools to use and lots of beach chairs. We would go there again.

El Cozumeleno
Our family (myself, husband, daughter and mother in law) had a great 8 day vacation at the Cozumeleno resort in Cozumel, Mexico. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, and responsive to requests. They act and look professional. The hotel was very clean and we had great beach front rooms that connected with a door per our prior request.the views were great, the beach beautiful- great snorkeling, crystal clear water, beautiful sand- out daugher loved every minute. I am pleased to say that my daughter who is 22 months old, ate daily at the buffet there at the resort with no problems, did not get ill. My whole family ate daily from the buffet and did not get ill, I have a weak stomach and got a little pain from drinking too many margaritas (my fault). The room beds were pretty hard- too uncomfortable for me, if you like super hard beds you're in luck here. The mosquitos were out in force though (June) so I recommend some repellent for sure, bring your own, the shop in the hotel is quite expensive (10.00 US for a bottle of OFF spray) and is not always stocked on everything you need. overall it was a very pleasant trip.

Entertainment tip:
Short drive from hotel
I recommend renting a moter scooter, about 35 US dollars for 24 hours of use and they will bring it to you and pick it up, its a great way to see the island at your own pace, it is a short trip to shopping and entertainment and the scooters use so little gas we only had to pay about 1 dollar US in gas. The scooters come filled with gas you just return it filled.

Great Value
This was my first time in Cozumel and my first time in Mexico all together. The hotel is a 15 min cab ride from the Ferry to Playa del Carmen (which is a 35 min boat ride) so that was good. The 2 restaurants at the hotel were decent, a buffet (outdoor) and an a la carte restaurant (indoor). The ambiance in the indoor restaurant is good for a nicer dinner. The buffet is right on the beach so you can watch the sunset for dinner if you time it right. The food was decent. I thought the breakfast was the best meal and the Mexican food. It seems that the daytime service was better than the night time service at the buffet. Make sure you bring your ID so you can check out snorkeling gear, life jackets, kayaks, etc. from the activities center. You need to use it as collateral. Unfortunately, you can only check out the gear for an hour at a time. That was kind of a bummer so if you want to do longer snorkeling at the hotel's beach (which is not bad, plenty of fish to see), I would recommend bringing your own gear. They also have some activities that you have to pay for such as jet-skiing, pottery painting, etc. They also have biking, miniature golf (it was too hot to do either of those during the day!), a pool table, table tennis, and horse-shoes (the game) for free. They have Wi-Fi in the lobby but they also had 2 common-use computers (but no printers) in the lobby so you don't need to bring your laptop or use your cellphone data plan. As for the rooms, we upgraded to the Deluxe room. I don't know what the room would've looked like so I can't say if it was worth the upgrade. That being said, my only complaint about the room is that the mattress was not all that comfortable but I was usually so tired most nights that I didn't mind it too much. We also payed $15 a day to have a minibar. In hindsight, it wasn't necessary since drinks are included. My husband and I spent most of our time snorkeling or laying in the hammocks on the beach. We also tried to get a workout in every other day at the fitness room. This is not a full on gym. There are dumbbells up to 8lbs and a really old nautilus machine. If you are looking for a full gym, then this is not the place for you. The aerobic equipment did not work. I felt a bit mislead by the website when they listed fitness equipment on their list of amenities. You're better off running on the beach. All-in-all, very good value for your money. Lots of activities to keep kids entertained. Also good for the adults--drinks, live music on certain days of the week and even a cultural show.

Winter getaway
The weather was perfect. The staff is always there to serve and ensure that your stay is wonderful. The food is average. The buffet does not vary much. The snorkeling is great right off the beach. The coral is beginning to grow back. Wonderful to see. It is easy to get to town from the front of the hotel.

Enjoyable stay
Location and staff are excellent. Themed evening shows were presented for entertainment every week night. Low point was the food. Generally it was the same most nights and tasteless. Bar drinks available are very limited and you can probably count on one hand.

Good Value..
The staff was very good. The location was also very good as it's close to San Miguel de Cozumel. Nice beach front with decent snorkeling off the beach. The rooms were just OK, nothing fancy. However the bed was the hardest bed I've ever suffered through sleeping on!! Having a chronic back problem from an injury, I was miserable every night and could barely get any sleep. Perhaps if the pillows hadn't been just as hard as the bed I might have slept a little better!! Even after I had a foam topper put on the bed, it was still like sleeping on a brick.. The food at the buffet was just ok, actually a lot of it was quite awful. However, the A la Carte resturant was very good and the service was great.. Just be sure to make your reservations early each morning!! I'm not sure what it was that bite me on the beach but I got about 100 bites that looked like fire ant blisters and itched something awful for several days even after I returned home.. I've been to several resorts on Cozumel and this is the first time I was bitten by anything down there.. Also, no idea why the guests at this resort were so rude to go out at 6am and put a towel on the lounge chairs but not even use them until well after noon, if at all!! This was extremely rude and I have never seen this at any other resort anywhere I've been before!! I mean really.. If you aren't using the lounge chair why not let another guest use it?? Most days 75% of the chairs had no one in them , just a towel in case they wanted to use it later!! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! Never again!! I'll go back to Allegro or Iberostar next year..

My second time here
We had a problem when we first got to the hotel with our hot water. The staff fixed the issue right away. Everything else except for the food was great. The food was boring and bland. Overall we enjoyed this trip we just ate out a little More than normal because of the poor choices at the hotel.

Family Vacation
This was a nice resort, but with the traveling that we do this resort is does offer much. The activities during the day were very minimal and not "fun". Typically resorts have a show every night, and this one had movie night every other night. We were dissappointed in the activities for sure. Food was so/so, not much of a variety. The same food was always served, usually resorts have different themed nights. One good thing: the staff was very kind.
