An elegant spot in downtown Cozumel minutes from everything
The sunny atrium in the lobby and terrace overlooking the clear Caribbean Ocean may encourage lingering, but with a location as good as this, guests would benefit from stepping out and exploring downtown Cozumel. The Casa Mexicana Cozumel hotel is just blocks from the market in the center of town, which puts shopping, a movie theater and multiple dining options within walking distance. This hotel was the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, served everyday from 7 - 11 included with your room. Everything was great, would go back next year.

great hotel,with great ocean views
The Casa Mexicana has to be the best hotel located in downtown Cozumel.The rooms are very large and seem to have recently been remodeled.The beds are very comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly.I highly recommend going with the ocean view rooms our friends who booked city view ended up switching once the saw the view of the ocean.The free breakfast buffet was one of the best i've ever had.The only draw back is there pool its only 3.5 feet deep and nobody really goes in it.If i ever make back to Cozumel i will defintly be staying there again.

Awesome location, the best staff!
From the moment we arrived, I loved this place. They were courteous and helpful at the front desk and even greeted each guest with a chilled, scented face towel. The rooms were spacious and the restroom bigger than ones in most homes! Even the sheets were wonderful, with the hotel insignia engraved in the center. I will most definitely stay in this hotel whenever I am in Cozumel. Oh, did I mention the first class breakfast buffet that included smoked salmon with all the trimmings? I am a caterer and know food,,, and believe me this beats the fair at any of the all-inclusive places that seem to be so popular throughout Mexico. The location was hard to beat, only a block from the best restaurants and shopping, and a 10 min cab from the airport.

One of nicest hotel in San Miguel
The room and the whole hotel was super clean and the breakfast buffet was incredible! They'll have some juicer for your own fresh carrot juice and cook right in front of you for some pancakes, omelet and french toast. And the location is also great to hang out in San miguel, wherever you go, taxi and all convenient stores near by, so you can enjoy yourself without any worry for your stuffs in need. I was really satisfied with Casa Mexicana during all the way of my trip. Only bad thing I had was there is no beach near the hotel. But around 5 bucks, taxi will take you to the nearest beach. I do recommend this hotel for anyone who plans to go to Cozumel, and I want to say thank you to the staffs who helped me during my stay again!

Good value, great location
We loved the Casa Mexicana. The room was your basic hotel room, but was comfortable and clean and nice-looking, with plenty of storage space for our luggage. The common areas of the hotel (dining area, lobby, balcony) are beautiful and open, and all the staff are very friendly and eager to help you. Most also speak English - we don't speak any Spanish and had no problem communicating with them. The hotel is right in the downtown area, so there is plenty of shopping and dining within easy walking distance, but for the beach, you will probably have to either rent a car (which we did) or take a cab (not too expensive, from what I understand, though we never tried it).

Toward the end of our trip, we walked into the convenience store right next to the hotel for more sunscreen and discovered that the souvenirs we'd been buying elsewhere the whole time were mostly all available there for a lot cheaper!

Very diver friendly
We liked this hotel very much. Each room was very well setup, very clean and comfortable. In addition, each room has a balcony which was very convenient for storing and drying dive equipment each day. And of course the view to the city or ocean was great. Staff in the hotel were very friendly, with the delicious continental breakfast each morning starting as early as 7:00 AM this is a great hotel not only for family holiday, business purposes but an excellent place for divers to stay. The hotel located steps away from the beach, boat dock, shops (including dive shops) and restaurants.

a) a couple of dive shops on each side of the hotel; b) All kinds of shopping places and restaurants around the hotel with very short walking distance. c) Boat dock for couple of dive shops is just cross the street! d) Dive boats usually leaves at 8:30 AM, that gives you plenty of time to have a good breakfast before your first dive.

Excellent staff!!
Front desk, concierge and breakfast crew are all just AMAZING!! I was worried about not being able to communicate too well in Spanish, but those I just mentioned speak English. This really took a load of stress off of my shoulders! If money permits, I would suggest the ocean view. City view is pretty if you look to the distance, but the lot behind the hotel is vacant, was damaged by hurricane, and has not been cleaned up yet. The sun sets on the ocean and would be a nice evening view.. Any-who, this hotel is more then amazing! The staff, the view, the pool, the indoor-outdoor atmosphere built into the architecture.. All of it was just wonderful!

If you fly into Cancun, the bus from the airport to Playa Del Carmen is $8.00. The Ferry is $10.00. So I would suggest IF YOU CAN CARRY YOUR OWN LUGGAGE, this is the way to save on airfare (almost $200.00 more to fly into Cozumel). The hotel is only a short walk from the ferry, in fact, you can see the hotel when you approach the island.

My review of Casa Mexicana Cozumel
The hotel is in a great location (right across from the port) and shopping and entertainment are nearby. The rooms are big and clean, and the employees are friendly. Internet is free in the rooms if you have a laptop. I used the computer room, and the Internet connection is quite slow, but at least it?s free and accessible 24 hours. The hotel is close to the ferry to Playa del Carmen, so it?s easy to take excursions and day trips.
