Service came first
The staff at the Holiday Inn Suites Chihuas was first rate. From the bilingual staff to the excellent housekeeper to the waitstaff in the restaurant (especially during happy hour!), we were treated as well or better than at any other hotel I have ever stayed in--certainly at any Holiday Inn. The restaraunt and pool were very nice, if not a bit crowded and the workout room was tiny, but I suppose these are things to expect. El Centro was within easy walking distance, but what we had to walk through was not too pleasant. Take the twenty peso cab ride, especially at night.

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
Historic El Centro and the teeming Mercado were less than a mile away, but not a particularly pleasant walk, especially at night. Excellent dining options are within five miles, but do your research!
