The Westin Resort and Spa Cancun

when we arrived at the hotel our room wasnt ready so the gave us an upgrade.the hotel itself is fairly plain and is located the farthest from down town of all cancun hotels-cab rides are longer and more expensive.[...] the internet isnt free.otehr then that the staff was friendly and the hotel was quiet.

This was our second trip to Cancun, in Nov. of 2009 my husband and I traveled to Cancun and stayed at the same resort. This year we traveled back with our children. The Westin Spa Resort has everything you can possibly ask for and them some.... We loved the pool side service, the friendly staff, the clean rooms, the spa services and specially the beach side massages. The hotel offered us a 15% discount so we could try a different restaurant within the resort every day. The housekeeper was very friendly and accommodated our needs to switch from feathered pillows to synthetic ones. We have no complaints and we can't wait to plan our next visit.

We booked on [...] two tours: chichen itza and isla mujeres. Must do !I encourage people to book the transportation from and to the airport directly on [...].Everything was beyond my expectations.

Wondrefull experiance. second time around we like this hotel for the personalized service.the staff go out their way to make you stay pleasent.since you check in until you check out we realy enjoy it. good place to just relax.you get more than you pay.

The staff was really nice, the hotel is not really in a central location, however I really like it, cuz is just a bus drive away from every thing. the pools and the beach are the best, very clean and very private. The room can use more ventilation, sour of humit, but over all very nice.

Trip took place in summer (storm season) but there was a bright, beautiful sun every day. First of all, this hotel is the FARTHEST possible from anything else in Cancun. 15 minute bus ride to restaurants, 30 minutes from clubs, 45 minutes from flea market / harbor On the plus side, the bus stop is right outside. Then again, you have to walk uphill to get back to the hotel. The beach outside this hotel is almost useless, red flags up 100% of the time because of the rocks. You have to go to the Club Med beach down at the next hotel (5 minute walk on the beach) to actually go in the water. I stayed on the first floor, the floors were tile and really cold. Despite requesting linens changed, the sheets always had a spot of something nasty on them (brown or red stain). The showers are tiny, but the shower heads are great for pressure. They are in a separate room from the tub (and the shower water will definitely spill on the floor) The hotel bar is great during happy hour (2 for 1, cheap drinks) El Palmar, the breakfast and lunch restaurant, is overpriced, not that great. The swimming pools are always warm. Everyone in Cancun is out to get your money, and this place is no different.

bed linen had a foul smell and despite complaing, they claimed they did not have alternate room. After my daughter twittered about the bad condition, Starwood responded and we got an alternate room

We needed a one night stay in Cancun prior to checking into the resort we would be staying at for the week. I reserved a deluxe room with a view of the lagoon. What we got was a deluxe room just a few steps from the Caribbean. We were able to enjoy the beach that morning before checking out. That was a nice surprise and a very cool way to wake-up and start our vacation on the Riviera Maya!

We took tours (Isla de las Murejes and XCaret), went shopping, ate at the Crab House (delicious), Mojito (great food and inexpensive prices and did some dancing: good bands)and at an Italian restaurant (delicious) at Plaza Isla. If prices at the Westin were more reasonable we would have eaten there more. We have been to Cancun two other times and this one rates average. Because the location is far away from the shopping,dinning and clubs there should be more of those amenities (piano bar, DJ, more selection of shopping). When you hear THE WESTIN its associated with all these amenities.

Although this hotel has some age on it, the rooms has been redone and the room was very clean. Staff was attentive without being overbearing. Beach was clean with a short walk to a reef teaming with fish.
