great family hotel

We spent a week in this hotel and overall we were satisfied with the service, the custodians and staff were really helpful and respectful, the rooms were always clean. The only thing we didn't like was that people from the hotel would try to sell us timeshare. In my opinion they were a little pushy trying to sell us something we weren't interested in; other than that it is a great hotel for a family.

Go to a restaurant called "El Cejas" in Mercado 28 if you like seafood, its a really great restaurant and its not too expensive. Ask any taxi driver to take you there.

Really Nice, but...

The beach has a lot of seaweed; taking the shuttle to the Royal Sands would be beneficial. Also, do not make the mistake of inquiring about timeshares - this will become your biggest hassle. The staff here is really friendly but some of the residents are what we called "creepy friendly". Many of the people that stay here are timeshare owners although the staff claims the place is a private club. Overall, a nice experience; the resort is meticulously maintained and if you have questions there is always someone around to ask. Conveniently located on the bus-line.

Skip walmart and take the bus to the local market (Chedraui) which is much cheaper and you will also save the money on a taxi.

Really Nice, but...

This is a very beautiful place and the location makes it easily accessible. Don't make the mistake of inquiring about a timeshare because that will become your greatest hassle. The employees say this is a private club but it is mainly timeshares. The beach has a lot of seaweed but you could take the shuttle to the sister hotel (Royal Sands) for free to use their beach facilities. It seems like there is always someone around to answer any questions you might have which was great but sometimes -even when you are relaxing on the beach- people are what my family and I called "creepy friendly". There was always some type of maintenance being done - the Club was very meticulous. Overall, great location and amenities and Cancun is a really fun city for families with small children. Also, this Club is not all inclusive so be prepared to tip repeatedly, daily.

Take the bus to the local market (Chedraui) downtown and skip Walmart; you won't have to pay for a taxi and the products are cheaper.

Cancun stay on 'top of the 7'

Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a two bedroom suite with full kitchen, so the value was good. The beach is very calm and shallow, great for little kids. It is a family resort. Many retirees and their grandkids. Very nice swimming pools. Beautiful vegetation surrounding the resort. Sailboats and other equipment come with room rental. Our room faced the parking lot/street, so and was too noisy. Would recommend a beach facing room.

Affordable Getaway

I got this hotel on a great packaged deal. The staff was friendly. The room was always clean. Access to public transportation from the hotel was easy and came often. Although this is a place more for families, husband and I enjoyed it very much!

Christmas in Cancun

Overall the hotel and Cancun was fantastic as always. Have been to Cancun five times and the weather is always great. Only drawback to this hotel is the location is on the other side of the point so you don't have the nice waves/ocean sound or blue waters.

The Royal Cancun Trip

We had a wonderful time at the Royal Cancun. The staff was very attentive and took care of our every need. The food at the hotel was excellent, as was the pool, beach and room. We enjoyed relaxing on the small beach and in the shallow, warm water. It's a great resort that I would highly recommend.

Love it! Will go back again!

The hotel was a great surprise! There were no usual crowd for the Spring Break. We could always got good seats at the restaurant, by the pool, and on the beach。 It was peaceful! My children, 2 and 5, had a wonderful time. So did we.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

If you are with very young children, aging between 0 to 5, maybe skipping the Chichen Itza for this time is a good idea. Too hot and too much walk under the sun.
