A small convenient hotel in Cancun city

All I needed was a place to park myself and my car. Terracaribe is an inexpensive, clean and convenient (to Isla Mujares) hotel. Definitely not the Ritz, but it has a small pool and a warm-tub. Ask for one of the rooms with a (small) balcony

Great for travel on budget

Like other reviews have said, the location is the weakness of this hotel. It is far from the hotel zone where all the fun is going on. But since my friends and I were on a budget, spending 120 pesos (about 10 US dollars)for a cab ride to the hotel zone was more affordable than paying 200 USD extra per person for a nicer hotel at a better location. It takes about 25 mins to get to the hotel zone. The cabs are plenty and we never have any problem finding one. If you're buying a tour, then the location is not so much of a problem because they will pick you up and drop you off at the hotel anyway. The hotel is close to the ferry port to Isla Mujares. It was about 15 min walk from the hotel. Then we took the ferry for another 15-20 mins to the island where we spent a nice day snorkeling and walking around the downtown of the island. The hotel, indeed, is clean. Room service is great. We always came back to our room at the end of each day to find it so spotlessly clean. Even our messy clothes were put in the right place for us. Very impressed. The food at the hotel was great. I had American breakfast there and absolutely loved it! The superior room was spacious and the AC worked well (to a point where I actually froze at night!) It was overall a nice experience on a budget. It saved me probably 200 dollars for the whole trip of 5 nights 6 days -- adding up to 800 dollars for all four of us. So, if you come as a family and want a more economical vacation, this is possibly a good option for you. However, the next time I go back, I probably will pick a hotel in the hotel zone :(

Terracaribe Cancun

I needed a hotel to sleep while I waited for my plane the next mourning. Too bad my stay was too short because the hotel invited me to spend more time. The hotel and the service was more than what I expected

Good

The receptionist received me in a bad mood. He was so rude, he wanted me to provide him my passport in order for him to get a copy so he could give me the room I had in my reservation. In addition the room that he gave me had blood on the floor. I asked him to changed me to another room the same night I had arrived, he did it in a bad mood.

Nice place

Location is very good and clean. Not a lot to do if you are not familiar with the area. Restaurant offers very good food but only open for breakfast and lunch. Staff were very helpful. Would I go back , maybe - price is right.

Great for Cancun on a budget

This hotel is perfect for Cancun on a budget. If you are not adventurous or self-sufficient, stay in the hotel zone. If you want to get a taste of the real life Mexico, then stay at this hotel. You will get a quiet, clean room, good night's rest, a very nice and extremely helpful staff, and a pool that is never crowded. As you approach the area you may think it is a little run down but remember you are in Mexico and not the US. Pay attention to how clean everything is and you won't feel threatened at all. I would stay there again.

Nice place to rest your head.

A good solid hotel for sleeping. In terms of the feel of the hotel, it was pretty basic, but had all the essentials for a good night's sleep.
