Okay - this was a fun trip at an above average resort with a great pool and beach. One good thing is that they keep putting ... money in the place for improvements. The food was not spectacular but was very good. There was a lot of entertainment at the pool by a great staff and a number of things offered to do if you so chose to participate. We have been to Mexico several times and decided not to take any excursions - so our days were at the pool from 8 until 6 or 7. The resort offered soething every night for entertainment - so be prepared.

Ovarall, extremely enjoyable stay. Staff goes out of their way to help you. The most friendly staff I have ever experienced. ... We had a problem though. When we reached at the hotel aroung midnight, we were told that the Hotel was over-booked, and they had no room available for that day. They sent us another hotel (Blue Bay)for that night. After a long travel, and at that time we were extremely disppointed. However, the Hotel Manager came to see us, and was extremeny appologatic. The other Hotel was also extremely good. When we returned next day, they upgrded us to a Ocean View Room.

Never going back to Temptations Resort!!
T&J Nov 17, 2009
My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in Cancun for my birthday. Prior to our vacation, I did some research online on all the ... resorts in Cancun and decided to choose Temptations Resort as the best fit for us. The resort looked sexy, exciting, very intimate and romantic. I never thought I would ever regret going to Temptations because of poor service and rude employees. We arrived at the hotel at 4:30pm due to traffic. When we got to the front desk, there were 4 agents who all seemed very busy, even though there was NO ONE checking in. All 4 agents had their heads down typing away on their computers and didn't acknowledge guests that were approaching. I finally had to say "excuse me" and one of them looks up. No greeting, no smile, no welcome or anything. I gave my boyfriend's name and checked in. The lady checks the computer for a few minutes and informs us that my boyfriend's name was not in the reservation system. I told her to check again and so she did. She began mumbling to her co-workers in Spanish as if she was irritated because she could not find our reservation and that I asked her to check again. Finally, a half hour later, she realizes that my boyfriend's name was misspelled in the system. She then informs us and continues to check us in and gave us our room key. No apology or anything. She then tells us to see one of the agents to go over the resort, and the different scheduled activities they had daily. We asked her if we could make the dinner reservations with her since we knew that some of the gourmet restaurants at the resort required reservations. She then informs us that we had to go to Bellavista and make our reservations there in person and that they only took reservations between the hours of 10am-12noon. It was too late and so our only option was the buffet that evening. I don't understand why guests can't book dinner reservations at the time of check in or have the option to make dinner reservations over the phone from our room? Why do we have to make them in person? After speaking to the agent for a half hour, she then informs us that we had to meet with a tour guide the next morning to give us a tour of the resort. Finally, we got to our room and wanted to lay down and relax until my boyfriend noticed pubic hairs on the sheets! I screamed!! He immediately called front desk and told them to change the sheets. 20 minutes later, no one came to our room. My boyfriend called the front desk again to inform them that no one ever came up to change our sheets. The front desk agent said that housekeeping should be up shortly. Another 15 minutes later, the housekeeping finally came up with clean sheets. She started speaking to us in Spanish and so we told her that we didn't speak Spanish. She gave us a weird look and continued to speak in Spanish! We finally had to tell her to leave and that we would make the bed ourselves. The next morning, we met up with the tour guide. It was a huge mistake meeting up with this tour guide. This guy was nothing but arrogant and sarcastic. He was nice and polite at first while he was giving us a tour of the resort, but he became rude, arrogant and sarcastic towards the end of the "tour". Before this guy gave us this so-called "tour", he told us that he was going to take us to Bellavista to book our dinner reservation for the evening. He took us to breakfast at the buffet and showed us around the resort. At one point, he showed us some private areas of the resort that was reserved only for "members" of the resort. An hour later, he took us this "Members Only" VIP room where they served us high end liquor. They treated us like VIP only to find out that there was a catch. He informed us that we will only be served high end liquor if we were "members" of the resort. We informed him that we were not frequent vacationers and that we only went on vacations on special occasions, maybe once or twice a year. He continued to tell us more about the membership and the perks eve...

clmf Nov 17, 2009
been here before when it was Blue Bay Getaway, great facelift. Difficult to secure a room, lots of people bumped to sister ... hotel because of overbooking. It was our Honeymoon, asked several months in advance for our old room and the complimentary champagne/fruit basket...got a room with view and noise of restaruant roof top a/c and took three days of asking for the complimentary honeymoon thing. All in all, we still had a good time, we like the place, the remodel is good but the food took a downturn from our last visit. Hotel seems a little under staffed too. It was our Honeymoon so we were at the quiet pool or beach most of the time, the new beds on the beach were definitely nice to just to chill or nap.

Pale Seattle-ites Nov 16, 2009
We chose this hotel for the all inclusive and no children option, and it included room service..or so it claimed. The hotel ... and staff were wonderful, although not a 4 star resort that it was rated. The rooms were nice, but certainly not 4 star quality. The staff was great except for the timeshare sales people who are not associated with the resort. The room service is only for 'members' of which we were not..[...] The activities included were hobie cats and kayaks, scuba lessons, and pool activities...they were great! The food was so-so. The restaurants requiring reservations were better, but not always...it was a good thing they were included. Tipping helped the service, and the poolside acitivites were great. We want to explore other all inclusive resorts.

Unfortunately our trip coincided with hurricane Ida. Activities were limited. Staff did there best to get you involved. ... Guests seemed to make the best of it. Most socialization occurred around the "sexy pool." Drinks were very strong. Rooms were clean. Mattresses were extremely hard. Meals were decent. Making dinner reservations was inconvenient & time consuming. Nighttime shows were amusing. Staff were very accommodating & friendly. The ocean water was definitely not blue! Exterior lighting was minimal in stairways. My biggest concern was getting hit with Montezuma's Revenge a week after returning home.

The hotel was very nice. I didn't care for the food at all. There was no evening buffet like they advertised. The menu you ... ordered off was very limited. I contacted them after leaving and let them know I was disappointed and never heard a word from them. The reservations to the restaurants was a joke the only ones we could get were at 9:30 at night. friendly staff; using the all-inclusive package, the resort has a terribly inefficient and frustrating policy requiring you ... to physically show up at a restaurant between 11am and noon to make dinner reservations at any 1 of 4 restaurants that they have. These reservations are mandatory and without them you will not be accomodated for dinner (except at the casual, buffet place). This also means that if you probably wont get to eat at a real restaurant the night of your arrival, unless you get there before noon and know about this policy.

AJ Nov 9, 2009
This resort was super clean and we loved not only the room, but the food and the service as well. There were several ... different restaurants to choose from including Buffet and it was all excellent. Everything we needed was right at the resort and we spent very little additional spending money. We loved the double showers, the bar in the pool, and the 5 star service we received. Although they do advertise that this resort is for singles, we feel this is more of a couples resort rather than a vacation for singles.
