Sunset Royal - All Inclusive

The hotel and staff were very nice, but if you are traveling with small kids there simply was not enough activities at the resort. Excursions were a must to keep them busy.

The Sunset Royal wasone of the best places I have stayed at in Cancun! Ive been 5 times in the past and this was the nicest for the money. The Staff was by far the most helpful i have ever seen! If you like a relaxing vacation and quiet atmosphere this place is great. You are within walking distance to all the clubs, so if you need a nightlife this place is great for that too!!! The food is really good! couldnt complain at all! the Italian restaurant was the best! Asian is the next best! Marisol and Danny were great! They were so much fun throughout the day and made sure you were taken care of at night if you went to the clubs. Over all i cant wait to return!! This was the nicest hotel, cant wait to go back!!!

If you are looking for a cheap all inclusive with decent breakfast and lunch, then go for it. The beach is great, and if you tip your server, you will get good service under a tiki hut! (Just lower your bar of expectation and realize that you can't beat a nice beach and cold, unlimited Margaritas!) The place is really cheap, so you get what you pay for. The rooms are ok, our air conditioner leaked all over the floor. The food is mediocre, at best. It's not a nice place to hang out at night, at all. But there are unlimited drinks! (Order the top shelf liquor and tell them how to make what you want and you will get a much better drink.) DO NOT PAY ANY EXTRA FOR A ROOM WITH A VIEW OR A BALCONY. ALL THE ROOMS ARE THE SAME AND THEY ONLY GIVE THE NICER ROOMS TO PEOPLE WHO SIT THROUGH THEIR TIME SHARE SALES PITCH OR BUY INTO THE SPECIAL CLUB. The staff is really nice. But we had to argue to get the $100 credit that we were supposed to get automatically. PRINT EVERYTHING OUT DOCUMENTING ANY CREDITS OR SPECIALS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE! The massage we got with the credit was nice. Ask the concierge about restaurants. We got two great recommendations: Bovino's (Brazilian Steak House) and Fred's (seafood). Both were fantastic.

Not alot to do evenings. Had to have reservations for the only 2 resturants. You could have the option of eating at a buffet outside, at 7:30 in evenings. Food was so-so. Went with another couple, and all 4 of us spent 2 days in our rooms sick. We didn't eat off the hotel. Room was so-so also, bath didn't have a fan so it kept steaming up, so 2 could not get ready at same time. Lack of outlets, so couldn't get ready elsewhere. would not go there again.

This was supposed to be aan ending to a FABULOUS week already spent in the Riviera Maya. We should've never left. I had a confirmation number and the hotel stated they had been booked for days and they had no idea how I received a confirmation number. The manager stated he was not required to do anything for us and that is exactly what he did, nothing! I would never recommend anyone stay at this facility, It certainly is not a four star by any standard that I could see.

The staff were excellent - cleanliness superb, food selection amazing. Excellent view of the ocean, wonderful beach. The only drawbacks were that there was not enough availability for shade (umbrellas and protection was limited), and the second "double bed" for the kids was just a hard couch. There were many activities on site, and the kids loved the pool!

We had an amazing holiday and couldn't ask for more. The hotel staff - Ariel, Angel, Dani Lou and Entertainment staff were all amazing. Our 16 year old and 12 year old had a super time. The location was amazing and the food was awesome. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

This was definately the classiest of the 4 sunset chain. Well organized and the food was pretty good. The a la carte was excellent but the menu is exactly the same at each resort. I'd return but maybe stay at the Ocean spa as it wasn't as hectic. More relaxing and a bit more laid back.

The staff were accomodating to all our requests and were very friendly! Very happy with my stay here!

The hotel was great! I can not say enough about how nice the staff was. I would recommend this to my family an friends as a great place to stay.
