Secrets The Vine Cancun - Adults Only All Inclusive

Very modern look yet offer luxury comfort. Very different from other luxury resorts that have more traditional looks which I don't like. But, interior details could have been better (e.g., elevators) to give warmer looks to atmosphere. Room amenities and services are excellent. Nice bed and sheets. They come to clean and set up rooms at least two times. I put tip on the table but they didn't take it.. Food was okay based on luxury resort standards. One great thing about dining was we didn't need to make a reservation. We can just go wherever and whenever we want and choose the menu and restaurants. Italian, steak, and mexican grill restaurants were all great except that foods were little salty for me. But in terms of variety, I wish there were more types of restaurants. There were largely Italian, Mexican, steak grill, and pan Asian. I wish there were French or more refined Japanese restaurant, following luxury resort standards. Also, I got tired of eating in one breakfast restaurant. Menus didn't change even though they offered a variety of food... Room service could be a good option. We ordered room service many times and they were all satisfactory! Pools were great and beach of course. There were lot of waves so we couldn't snorkel but enjoying surfing was another exciting thing.

For the price I paid, this hotel simply was not worth it. Amazing concept - beautiful design, great visual presentation, clean rooms. Food - God awful. I have stayed at other Secrets before and this was a huge disappointment. There was no consistency in food flavor or service. In some restaurants, we had a wait even though it was empty. In others, we were seated only to wait 1 hour for the meal. The wait staff pushed for spending extra on the wine list and was offended if food wasn't liked by a guest. Food wasn't prepared as asked and the portions were not proportionate to the meat. One grill wasn't even open for 2 days - no reason given, the doors were closed and many guests had to look for other options. Although the hotel was all inclusive, only two white wine options were offered with pinot grigio being an EXTRA charge, while other premium shelf liquors were included in the package. Room service tasted like garbage- undercooked, meats full of fat, the cut not what was requested, all of the food doused in oil, fruit not fresh, waited 1 hour for service on some nights...The basic premise was upselling, upselling, upselling...all about spending money for lackluster service..the hotel offered excursions through an in-house travel agency that promised a lot, offered very little-guide was not knowledgeable, tour was quick and not very informational,but one thing was great: trying to force you to buy souvenirs and spend more money on things you don't need. Pool service was great, as was the coffee shop. As a previous guest of these hotels, I would not want to have this location associated with that brand

Compared to most higher end all inclusives, the drive up to the entrance is less than impressive. There is no greenery in or around the hotel. When we were in Cancun two years ago we saw the bones of this high rise structure being built as we visited the Cancun Palace (now the Hard Rock) next door. It was originally designed to be condo apartments until Secrets purchased it. It's built sideways on a very narrow lot so most rooms have a side view of both the ocean and the lagoon. The basic room is large and beautiful with 2 separate vanities, a separate w/c and a separate huge shower. There really is no need to upgrade unless you plan to spend the majority of your vacation in the room. Provided toiletries smell almost medicinal & most will miss not having a full length mirror. The only times we would use the balcony was if none of our neighbours were out there, otherwise zero privacy. The hallways to the rooms were beautiful and the issue with slaming doors mostly relates to the vacuum effect of balcony doors being open when guests close their room door. Most guests that we met agreed paying extra for preferred was a waste. The preferred lounge was small & useless and the preferred pool and area seemed more appropriate for senior citizens and those with mobility issues that had difficulty making it to the regular pools (that were beautiful but access to them required many stairs without railings). I can guess that during peak times the pool deck might get a little tight and even the beach could be loaded. Nice poolside ala carte restaurant for lunch & a Barefoot Grill for basic fare while dripping from being in the pool. For dinner there are only three venues worth mentioning. Nebbiolo (Italian), Bluewater Grill (Steak & really good salmon) and Dragon for Asian. Good sports bar, good lobby bar & a great Piano bar that opened at 10:30. This is were the Secrets house band performed (I think every second day). They were great and the dance floor was always full. Besides the main floor lobby level, this place has 18 additional floors. The elevator goes from L to 10 with nothing in between & there is as usual no 13th floor. Therefore the 12th floor restaurants, preferred pool & fitness centre are actually more like 4 or 5 floors up and the 21st floor preferred club is actually about floor 11. If you like modern & new, then this is your place. This is the 9th all-inclusive we have stayed at including Le Blanc, Live Aqua, The Royal, The Royal Playa, Riu Las Americas (when it was new), Secrets Maroma, Gran Melia & Golden Paranasus. We have never returned to the same resort twice...we prefer the action of Cancun rather than Riviera Maya...but the newness of this place, the comfy mattresses, the W hotel feel of the resort, the great coffee bar, the more than ample daily & evening entertainment, good (not great food), having the vanity space to get ready for dinner (no reservations required), that most of the people take the effort to dress properly for dinner (our trip also included Live Aqua where they have a lax dress code and 70% of the guests - especially the men...wear flip flops, ball caps and extremely casual attire to their 5 star restaurant, free WiFi, free calls to Canada & U.S. from your room ...will bring us back to this resort.

Did not get the room they promised. Not a very good English speaking staff. Front desk staff experience - BAD.

The resort was great everything was provided, Never had a bad meal, everything was clean. The entertainment team had lots of fun stuff to do. No complaints,

Everything was perfect from the time we arrived! The entrance was very inviting and the whole place was soooooo relaxing!!!!!!!!! The staff was super nice and always asking if they could do anything for us. The food in the restaurants were delicious also! The shrimp tacos on the beach were amazing! The only negative thing that we found was that the maid service needs to come sooner in the day. They would show up between 4 and 5 PM. The hall ways are a little loud but what would you expect since everything is tiled up! No big deal!!!!!! The only thing we did on our stay was hang out at the beach and awesome pools!!!!!! We are heading back there in January because we had such a great time!!!!!! It's a great place!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience. Even though hotel is new, they are really on the right track. All of the staff is very friendly and eager to assist in any way.

Everything was perfect ! , food was very good, the room was as seen on the site, and the staff very kind .
