Royal Solaris Cancun Resort, Marina & Spa- All Inclusive

This hotel has not been updated at all. The rooms are very small poorly lit and smell bad. I could look past all of this because I wanted to spend most of my time at the beach. Which I could not do for the first day and a half because of all of the time share sales staff wanting me to see a 90 min presentation. I was told I would receive free tickets to several shows, party boat and other excursions that are not appropriate for my small children. Once I agreed to see the presentation which lasted well over two hours I was shown the room I could be staying in if I was a time share member along with all of the extra perks. When I told the sales lady I could not afford the $24k plus closing cost with only 20% down payment to be a member. And my main reason for this is that I wasn't impressed with the service of the hotel or the member's room. I was then told "Well if you're not a member your service is not going to be as good." This is a true statement. Please do not stay at this resort keep your money and stay home.

This was the worst hotel{Time Share} we have ever stayed at. The rooms smelled musky and were damp.Restarrants were closed certain nights for members only. The pools were dirty. The floors were slippery and I fell and broke my arm before I even got to the room. Hotel took no responsibility, Manage would not even talk to us. [...] The property was misrepresented as a hotel, not a time-share.

We tried to change our trip date and leave a day before planned and they would not allow us to do so, furthermore they threaten me that if I was not to pay the charges or complain they would call the authorities and it would not go well for me

We have stayed in cancun before and had a 10 times better experience for the same money. The worste thing about the stay was the food, the menu repeats every couple of days except for breakfast its the same everyday. On top of that three members of our party got food poisoning, as well as others we ran into at the hotel. The rooms were clean but the ac blew directly on the bed making it uncomfortable to sleep. Most of the staff was nice but there were a few bad ones. Cancun is great but I will be staying somewhere else my next visit.

We went to the town by bus. I found that it is better to shop/bargain with the lady shopkeepers. We went to the hotel shows, because it was pouring for two days.. Indoor pool would have been nice.. The beach is never raked, therefore my daughter hurt her foot the 1st day and refused to go for rest of our stay. The water was very rough and they had the red flags the whole time.

Front desk staff not friendly, no smiling face when talk to guest check in. Not reply to the request. Room with broken safe box, can not lock our passport. Corridor to room smelly.

We had stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and were very pleased. We were happy to reccommend this hotel to our family. Upon arriving we were disappointed to learn the Carribe Tower was closed. This meant there were restaurnats closed as well as a pool and the only 2 hot tubs available were closed as well. Our rooms had a distnct, unusual smell. One of our rooms the air conditioning did not work and after three attempts was not fixed properly. The toilet also did not work properly but was fixed upon request. The buffets were very good, the sit down dinner restaurnat was fair at best. Portion size was inadequate and bottles of wine were not included in the all inclusive. The grounds, the pool area, and the ocean was beautiful. Skip the vacation club presentation. The promised 90 minute presentation was 3 hour plus. Balconies were said to be available upon request however when requested the were available for an extra $220..00 charge.

toilet leaked. no balacony. no mini bar & no room service except breakfast which included both on web site. should have stayed at the gr solaris had pleasant time there in feb and sept 2012

Mangenment was very rude, ruined are family vacation

we haven't been on vacation in 4 years - it was so wonderful to get away but the hotel consieur kept haunting us in the beginning of the trip wanting us to get a time share - so it was quite bothersome - there are no ice machines on the floors - the room was clean but beds are very hard like a rock and so were the pillows - the food was alright - everything needs updating and they need to offer more for the money -we DID have wonderful pool and beach service , all in all we were blessed to get away that was the main thing anyway
