Week in Paradise
My husband & I just returned from our first trip to Cancun. We are die-hard fans of Puerta Vallarta; & go about 3 times per year. We must admit we were skeptical; however, Royal Solaris riveled some pretty stiff competition in PVR. We especially enjoyed the bbq ribs & wings around the pool for lunch. Marco Polo was fantastic! The evening performances and pina coladas made for very special evenings. We were blown away with the animal creations, rose petals on the bed, and the bottle of champaign of ice on day 2. We will definitely return to Royal Solaris. The all inclusive is the perfect way we love to travel!! It made for a delightful 40th anniversary vacation!!

Great place on a tight budget!
This was our second stay at the royal Solaris! The staff couldn't be more accommodating and the beachfront is amazing! Although the food was great it's more Mexican food than some people would like but we loved it! The restaurants are great and the place is super clean! It's definitely family friendly and I would recommend it to anyone I can! Would definitely go back!

Nice holiday
Pleasant and helpful staff. Good choice of food. The A/C was unfortunately blowing right on the beds which made it feel too cold for us.

OK Hotel
First the good stuff: The hotel ammenities and the all-inclusive food were OK. For the money we paid we cannot complain about food selection and repetitiveness. The activities around the pool during the day were fun and the shows in the evening were professionally done. Maid service and dining room service was great. Location was good for us because we wanted to be far away from the "action" Beach was fantastic. Now the bad stuff: The management do not enforce the rules about no kids in the jacuzzi and that loungers cannot be reserved around the pool. Everyday by 9.00am all the loungers in the shady areas were "taken" but nobody showed up until after 11.30am to claim them. They just put towels on them early in the morning to "reserve" them. Several times I pointed this out to the staff but they just shrugged their shoulders. What's the point to have signs saying that "reserving" is not allowed if they don't reinforce their rules? Same thing with the jacuzzi, always full of noisy kids and their parents despite the "no kids allowed " signs in both engilish and spanish. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet vacation, look elsewhere because the walls are pityfully thin and you can hear every word spoken by the people in the next room. I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world, but this is the first one were I could actually hear the neighbors talking as if they were actually in the same room! This was my 3rd trip to Cancun and I will return next year, but I would not stay in this hotel again.

Great Vacation, Great choice for Families!
We had a great time with our two daughters at royal solaris, which has a nice family oriented enviroment. The beach and the pools are in great shape, but the rest of the hotel needs a makeover to compete with the other luxury resorts.( I heard it will soon be scheduled).Would suggest other places if you want to go for a romantic couples only getaway. Food is good overall, as it is in any all- inclusive place (for what you're paying). They help you arrange excursions (have their own tour agency), we used them and had a great time (do the xcaret, chichen itza and xel ha tours, they are worth it), friendly and helpful tour guides (alex and marcopolo). Would stay here again, specially after remodeling.

Great vacation at a great price
I was a little concenred because we were taking one of the cheapest all-inclusives. But the service was fantastic. Many all-inclusives have you chasing down the one waiter to get your tiny watered down drink. But here they would check in on you constantly and everyone had such a cheerful attitude. I have stayed in a number of hotels in Cancun and other places. I would DEFINITELY choose this place again if I were to go all-linclusive. I usually do not choose an all-inclusive because I spend so much time away from the resort that it isnt worth the money. But the difference in price here made it worth it. The food was good. There were plenty of tables. Even the fancy alacarte restaurant was easy to get a table in. The only negatives I would say is that the beds are a little hard, as is typical in Mexico, they have the silly towel card game (but the towels are nice!), and many rooms do not have a balcony. This property is also way down at the bottom of the zone (closest to the airport), which is fine, but it just takes a little longer to drive to downtown Cancun.

Just OK
Service staff was fantastic! Front desk staff - not so helpful. Main problems were maintenance related - electrical problems and non-working coffee pot. Faucets were hard to turn off. Bartenders and drinks they provided were wonderful. Food in the buffet restaurant was okay. Variety was good. Marco Polo, the a la carte restaurant, was very good. Wish we had dined there every night. Guests should be aware that long pants are required for men. We appreciated the special attention my husband received in both restaurants on his birthday.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
Shop at Market 28 downtown for a true Mexican shopping experience. Due to cost of gold and silver, there are really no bargains on jewelry.

Could have been better!
The hotel was not that great. The rooms were not up to my standards. There were no king single beds when I checked in so my partner and I had to have a double bed. There are no smoking rooms which upset my bf. The food was not good at all. The buffet food had no taste. The Marco Polo restaurant was the best, the food was exceptional. The staff was more than nice to us. The pool was wonderful, we loved the swim up bar. And of course the blue waters was the highlight of our trip.
