Great value for all
Riu Palace was a very nice place to stay. This would have been a fortune in the U.S. Multiple restaurants are offered on premise, including a rodizio, steak house, as well as buffet. The employees were very nice, and the all-inclusive included beer and hard alcohol in your room. The only weakness was the poor attempt of a stage show, but definitely one of the best properties in Cancun.

Beautiful!
RIU Palace Las Americas was amazing. It is located right next to another RIU resort, which is OK, but by no means comparable to RIU Palace. The staff was very accomadating. Our room had two full beds, but I wanted a king, so they pushed them together and put a king size memory foam, which was great. The pools were very clean, and there were tons of staff at all times to serve you a great cocktail. There were multiple dining options. They had a breakfast and lunch buffet, and a dinner buffet which had different themes throughout the week. You need to make reservations for the restaurants. We stood in line for approx 20 min the first day at noon & made reservations for the whole week. Kristal and the steakhouse were amazing, but the Tapas restaurant could use slight improvement. There are vegas-like shows nightly, and then the staff takes everyone to a club at 11pm for a fee. I would highly recommend visiting Coco Bongos! It's walking distance if you go on your own. The view from our room was amazing, and the service extraordinary! I highly recommend this resort, and plan on going back again!

Excellent amenities, great people.
The Riu Palace was almost what their name is, a palace. Extremely comfortable, great unending variety of meals, and drinks. This hotel goes out of their way to please you. The entertainment is abundent, however, their evening shows, could be improved. There was no need to leave the hotel, the 8 days we stayed..........Net, net, a great place to go.

Treated Like A king in your own Palace
The Rui Palace Las American was a beautiful and romantic palce, also family friendly. The staff are more then helpful, they are all very friendly. The view of the beach and pools from your room is to die for. We enjoy our room just as much as the rest of the hotel. The rooms are larget enought with plenty of closet space, and a separate step down lounging area. The bathroom has a long counter with double sink, and it's large enought to handle 4 crazy women who's late for a party.(you know how that can be) This hotel is in a great location, with 5 or 6 fantastic places to eat with in the hotel. What else can I say. I leave you with this Its a hotel with out the hotel look or feel.

Great Place to Relax!
This hotel far exceeded expectations....beautiful lobby, with a view of an infinity pool and the ocean beyond. Our room was so well appointed...marble flooring and bath, nice sitting area and balcony overlooking the water. Great storage space.wonderful The dining was FABULOUS.........a lavish buffet that we enjoyed sometimes three times a day, and five other alternative restaurants, all lovely. The pool areas were beautiful....comfy lounges and wonderful cocktail service. There was nightly entertainment....a band with singer, and , on most nights, a small floorshow. The neighborhood was safe for a nightly walk, and had some shopping opportunities nearby. Public transportation was available within a block of the hotel.

There is a large mall across the street and to the left of the hotel, and, a little farther down that street, a center for Mexican pottery and crafts that was fun to wander through.

Great service
Due to my occupation, I have travelled quite extensively over the last 15 years but this was my wife and I's first time in Mexico and first experience with an all-inclusive. The hotel is first rate, impeccably clean with a staff that goes out of it's way to be sure that you are happy and well-served. It exceeded our expectations. Everything you need is in close proximity (pool, beach, buffet, gym etc). Great deep-tissue massage at the spa. Our only negative experience was with Gray-Line who I thought was only responsable for getting me to and from the airport but I soon discovered were also interested in hard-selling various recreational activities. Less than one hour after arriving at our hotel we were phoned in our room to meet a rep in the lobby and then pressured to choose right away our activities for the week. We found them to be very rude and unprofessional. To start with I chose one activity the following day and was promised transportation to and from the acitivity, only to have my wife and I brought to the site but never picked up for our return trip. We ended up having to take the bus. If we ever return to Cancun we would return to the same hotel but avoid Gray-Line like the plague.
