Amazing!!

I have stayed at this hotel at total of 2 times, and just absolutely love it. Staff is always cleaning, and is always being helpful. There are restaurants open 24 hours a day. And Scuba Caribe next door is something to see (Scuba Diving, Parasailing, Catamaran, etc... for a a fee).

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a nightclub next door at the other Riu Hotel called Pacha. It is very small, but free of charge. Most people, including hotel staff, go to the center of town for the major nightclubs.

Riu Palace Las Americas

Stayed here 6/17 to 6/22. The hotel was very nice service was good. Ask for a west wing room as we did not hear any noise from the Riu cancun next door. Tips: Use the safe. Lock the patio door. Make restaurant reservations, the dinner menu becomes boring. We ate at Tio Pepe, Krystal, Don Roberto a couple of times. They were all good. Different food in all three and good. If you have pesos front desk can give you change to tip the workers. Taxis: $15 even if you go 1 block. Buses: $1 use it. Too Hot: between 10:30 and 3p, I do not recommend walking around if you do take a cold water it feels hot. We went to Market 28 and it was not all that. Over Priced for the area. Try Market 23 Excursions: We went to chichen itza and tulum. we should have gone to coba and ekbalam less tourists. Overall very nice hotel and we had a great time.

Fantastic last minute beach getaway

Booked a last minute beach getaway to Riu Palace Las Americas and the experience and accommodations far exceeded my expectations. The beach is fantastic and service was outstanding from the moment I stepped into the lobby. Definitely my hotel of choice for all future vacations.

Honeymooning in Cancun

We stayed on the beachside the view was of the beach but obstructed... but it was a beautiful oceanview. It would have been nice to be in the middle section so that we could have gotten a full view of the ocean and the pools.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

When you buy from the local vendors it's best to bargain with them for the best price. You'll find that they're willing to come down 20 to 30 percent. In other words don't pay asking price. Most of all be CAREFUL when getting off the plane in the airport, don't be fooled by what appear to be customer service personnel...they're nothing but wolfs in sheep clothing trying to sell timeshares. If they try to pull you off to the side to give directions... walk away.

I WANT TO GO (BACK) TO RIU

We had another wonderful vacation at the Riu Palace Las Americas. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Restuarant and Bar service was exceptional this trip. However, the Palace had an unusually high occupancy rate -- and we learned during our trip that other visitors who had booked cheaper rooms at the RIU Cancun and RIU Caribe had been "upgraded" to the RIU Palace ... making it a bit more crowded than preferred, but still nice (just wish we could have paid less to get the same accomodations).

Use the Bus System to travel within the hotel zone. Drivers accept US currency (generally no coin); use a $1 bill and most drivers issue a peso or two in change.

You'll Never Want to Leave!

This vacation was better than our honeymoon! The hotel and staff went out of their way to make us feel special, and treated us as if we were the only ones at the hotel! The food was exceptional, the grounds were immaculate, the hotel is spectacular. We have never felt more comfortable and appreciated on any other vacation. You will not be dissapointed!!
