Fantastic family getaway

Great location, staff, amenities, sports activities. One note though: beware of the rooms that are actually parts of suites. They have a connecting door, and you can heat every noise from the neighbors. That's what we got but after comlaining were given an actual suite as a compensation.

RIU RETIREMENT CELEBRATION

The Hotel is quite beautiful and clean. The rooms were great and we stayed in a Jr. Suite, the bathroom could have been bigger. You really do not have to leave the complex if you do not want to, there is Entertainment, a 24 hour Internet/Sport Bar. The only pitfall was the exchange rate was only 11.30 pesos to the Dollar when it should have been at least 12.3 at least since it is legally like 12.66

The city buses are only 8.5 pesos and they run like every 5 minutes up until Midnight but they still run in longer intervals after Midnight.

Value for money

The two 'bookable' restraunts were ok, but if you think you've really experienced Japanese or churrascaria style dining, think again. The main buffet style restaurant was very good, with nightly themes, and a wide range of choices. Bar staff were very good, friendly and efficient. Of course there were the usual whiners, wondering why Bud wasn't available on tap, but if that's what they wanted they should have stayed at home. I went after the main season in Sep, weather was good and the hotel wasn't too crowded, not sure I'd want to be there in Spring Break.

Fantastic Family Getaway

This hotel is a great place for families or just couples. We had a blast on New Years eve and enjoyed the hospitality of all of the staff. The food is good and there is plenty of variety. The beach is wonderful. Clean and beautiful. There are 4 pools which are very clean. There are plenty of bars to get drinks and food is everywhere. For an all inclusive, the value is there. We will be back.

There is an excellent Sushi Bar just outside of the Hotel. For a Sushi lover, Its the best Sushi I have had in a long time. When you leave the hotel, turn left and its about 5 minutes away.

Family Friendly

This is a very active hotel. We spent most of our time on the beach where it was more quite. The beach was clean and large. The only down fall was they did not deliver drinks to the beach. You had to walk to the bar by one of the pools. But it wasnt that far away. One down fall is that it looked like people just peeded in the bar pool. Our check in went great and the room was so nice. It had plenty of space and it was always kept up with drinks and towels.I recommend this hotel. It was in a great location with friendly ppl.

Learn the bus route. The buses on one side of the street only go on that side. Very confusing. But once you get the hang of it, its ok.

Riu Cancun - All Inclusive

My family and I traveled to the Cancun Riu ALL Inclusive for a much needed R&R. This was our first time at an ALL Inclusive hotel and what a great surprise. Both my daughter and I are in the military and this was a much needed "family" vacation. We could not say enough about this vacation. The hotel staff and service were superb!! The hotel is right on the beach and we had an ocean view junior suite which was perfect for a family of four. Entertainment was never ending and so was the food service. To all their entertainment staff we take off our hats. They work extremely hard to keep a smile on your face ALL day long. Excellent!!

Very Friendly Staff

Upon arrival at the hotel the staff were extremely hospitable and througout our entire stay. Check in and out was very smooth and staff explained in detail all the information that we would need for our stay. The hotel is very nice for the price the only downfall was the rooms did not seem as nice as the rest of the hotel especially the comfort of the beds. There was a wide selection of food to choose from, there were buffets and two sit down restaurants to choose from.
