Excellent hotel

All the staff is great. The food is also excellent. I have been in this hotel for two years in a row--and would go back if I return to Cancun. The only drawback is that for some strange reason they lack enough hand-towels. Every day I needed to call for a hand towel.

First all inclusive stay

We stayed at Paradisus for a friend's wedding. Overall we had a great time, all of the staff were extremely nice, pleasant and helpful. The lobby is gorgeous and there is always a great aroma as you walk through the hotel. Our negatives were you have to make reservations 2 days prior but each time we made reservations the restaurants were empty when we were there. Some of the days we called 2 days ahead of time and were told there were no reservations at all so most nights we ended up eating at the buffet. (which the food was still pretty good, just frustrating). Also we had a nice large patio off of our room, but there was no patio furniture on it to sit and enjoy the view. We called to ask if there was anyway to get some and were told the hotel was too busy at this time. For the pool and beach chairs you have to be down there by about 7 am if you want an umbrella or shade and by 8 am if you want a chair at all. We may have just been there during a busy time but found that difficult. Overall though enjoyed our stay even with a few issues.

Great stay with a few hiccups.

Overall we had a great stay. We had to change rooms three times. First the bathroom door would not shut and the handle fell off. There was a bad mold smell from the sink in the second. We ended up with a nice room overloolking the pool. Food overall was very good especially the buffet. Great selection of drinks especially of tequilla. Staff were wonderful especially at the bars. The main pool was really cold and a little deep for my wife. Loved the location, really nice for walks on the beach.

Return guests

We returned here for our second year in a row. The experience overall was different as last time we were with a large group and this time it was just our family, 2 adults and 2 kids (10 & 16). Check in was great with Oscar coming to offer us drinks. Our room was exactly as last year only facing the lagoon instead of the ocean - but that's what we paid for. The room itself is okay, nothing special (not like the Paradisus in Playa Del Carmen). The maid did a fairly decent job, but never left us enough towels. Every day we had to call and request another towel. The washcloths were left periodically. The ice machines rarely had ice so we had to call for ice. Everything we needed we called to get and they did respond fairly quick. We ate at every restaurant except Mole. La Palapa? (the steakhouse) the steaks are not good they are very tough and fatty. Bana, we did not care for it at all but we are not real fond of Asian food anyway. Market Grill the Brazilian meat place, it was a lot of meat coming at you real fast. Some cuts were better than others but they didn't even bring vegetables and other sides until we had all the meats. It would have been nice if they would have brought the meat and then came with the sides, then the rest of the meat. During the day we liked the Market Grill for lunch as you can order from a menu, which has several different items to choose from. We had Ricardo several times as our server and were very pleased with his service. Love the shrimp skewers and the arugula salad. The taco place was fairly decent. Vento was okay. I was disappointed in Fuego this year, I thought it was not so great. The buffet, well it's a buffet by the end of the stay I really didn't care to go in there any longer, especially for breakfast. We did order room service for breakfast a few times, it wasn't bad. They also have a place near the pool that serves some hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, sandwiches and salads. It was alright but you have all the guests getting out of the pool, no hand washing and touching the utensils, etc. That stuff bothers me, probably why I don't like the buffet. The main pool has the pool bar and of course by mid afternoon it is packed with people that are there for hours, never leaving. The pool got very warm toward the end of the day. Plus people were getting food and getting in the pool to eat, I'm not sure why one would do this. It's pretty gross. We had a hard time getting service at the pool bar, the few times we went over there. We are good tippers so it was kind of discouraging as they seemed to ignore us. The beach is very nice, even though we were there with the seaweed it was still nice. There were a few days we were able to get in the ocean as the seaweed seemed to have cleared out for a bit. The service at the beach wasn't as great as last year. After a few days we did seem to build a relationship with Laticia and she ended up taking care of us. (the better we tipped, the better the service). Coco's Bar we went to several nights, mainly to get a drink to take down to the beach where we waited for the sea turtles to come in and lay eggs. Again, we felt a little ignored by a few of the bar tenders down here. Toward the end of the trip though it did improve. The Avenue Bar is okay for an evening drink but nothing for the kids here. They do have the show but we were there for 9 nights and could never begin to see the show at all. The night club we went in, got a drink and left. They have a fog machine going, I guess were too old for that. Entertainment in the evenings is not great. It's very hard for kids in the evening as they really have nothing to offer unless you upgrade, which we did not. We asked to use the pool table and nobody was in the family concierge where it is located and of course we couldn't use it. There is no ping pong tables, no games, nothing for the kids at night. This is a huge reason why we won't return.

Think Twice About this Resort

Beautiful resort and service from the folks around the pool were very good and can probably be associated to the fact that we tipped them However, we had the WORSE front desk service in my life! Always giving us the run around, hung up on when we called from our rooms regarding restaurant reservations. Fair to have to make reservations to restaurants a day before, but definitely a pain. I would spend my money somewhere else. Food were good at two places and others were OK.

Amazing and luxurious!

I recently stayed at Paradisus in Cancun, this being my second time and I have to say is just as amazing as the first time. I brought my family for the first time and they loved it as much as I do. The food was phenomenal! The service was amazing, we were always greeted by the staff and they were always happy to assist us. There was nothing I was unhappy about in this resort. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to go on a couple or family vacation with some of the most amazing food and best of all, amazing service!!!

Awesome family trip

My family of 10 visited this resort in Feb, we had a great time at the Paradisus. The beach was so beautiful, we took a lot of pictures to show our friends. Food was okay, could have been better ) We needed to make reservations for all dinners, good that we knew all restaurants require reservations, we did it on the first day of our visit.

Memorable Family Vacation

We've stayed at many all inclusive resorts in Mexico before, the Paradisus Cancun is by far the best. We upgraded to Family Concierge and it was worth it. Our butler Charly went out of his way to make us happy, especially my daughter. On the first day, he gave my daughter a nice backpack filled with a T-shirt, hat, beach ball, water gun... Every night he would leave a surprise for my daughter, either crafts, toys, fish food (to feed the koi fish in the pond located in the atrium), premium chocolate, cookies... Charly made all dinner reservations for us so we got to try a different cuisine every night. Speaking of food, the Paradisus Cancun has the best food compared to the other all-inclusive resorts we've been to. My husband is a great cook and he's very picky about what he puts in his mouth, the food at the Paradisus Cancun restaurants made him very happy. Our favorite a la cart restaurants were Bana (Japanese), Vento (Mediterranean Style Tapas), and Fuego (Latin American Fusion Cuisine). Chef Alexander Fuego of the Fuego restaurant personally came to greet us, he and his team made the best steaks, duck breasts, and salmon salad. The sushi and sashimi at Bana were really good (we're Asian and we know what sushi tastes like), the maki rolls and hand rolls actually tasted good, real sushi, definitely not like the mediocre sushi at the other all inclusive resorts. The other a la cart restaurants were good too, the only restaurant we didn't have time to try was Mole (Mexican contemporary cuisine) but the other guests we hung out with said the food at Mole was awesome too. The buffet at the Naos was great, for breakfast there's an omelette station where they make omelettes to order, for lunch it becomes a grill station where they grill sea bass, mahi mahi, large scallops, shrimps, squids, meats, kabobs... We didn't have dinner at the Naos buffet because we always had dinner reservations at the a la cart restaurants. One time on my butler's day-off, our dinner reservation was accidentally canceled (another family with the same last name canceled their reservation and they thought it was my family), Family Concierge recommended we try the newly opened Italian buffet at the convention center on premise, we tried it and it was amazing. The buffet at the convention center is a new buffet, we happened the be the first group of people to try it. This new buffet is opened for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it's even nicer than the buffet at Naos, it has an upscale atmosphere and you can order anything you want with the waiters there (if you don't see it) and they'll run to get it for you even though it's a buffet. Speaking of buffet at both the Naos and the convention center, I have to say my favorite part of all is the desserts, they make the best desserts in bite size so you'll get to try a little bit of everything, and they changed every day. When we were there, dragon fruit, fig, and guava were in season so we got to eat a lot of those on top of the other fruit such as pineapple, papayas, melons, citrus, grapes... The room was cleaned twice daily. The turn-down service at night gives a nice touch. The comfortable beds gave us a good sleep every night. Please note that these beds are like JW Marriott quality, very comfortable, not firm and hard like the beds at some other resorts in Mexico. We were given a pillow menu which offered 4 different types of pillows. My husband and daughter and I each picked a different pillow and we all loved what we got. The beach of course was so nice as it's on a long stretch of white powdery sandy beach. There was a little bit of seaweed when we were there but we still enjoyed the beach, the water was so warm and clear. The pools were large, but except for the kids pool, they were all oddly deep from 5'4 to 5'9, so if you're not a good swimmer or not tall enough, bring a floatie. We didn't have any problems, we used the beach more than the pools. Overall it was an awesome vacation.
