Stay away from the Vacation Club

We had a nice stay, and bought into the Vacation Club, but after thinking about it decided we could in no way take enough vacation to justify the cost. After reading the fine print, saw that we could void the contract in writing and in person within 24 hours, which we did on the following day. We have not been able to have our money refunded, and attempts by the credit card company to obtain some justice have gone unsuccessful after 3 months. Sounds to me like they are relying on their offshore status to make it incredibly difficult to have anyone rely on their contract.

Great vacation

Hotel was great! Very clean and well maintained. Staff was nice. Food was good. Could always find something to eat. Drinks were very good! Room was a little more humid than other hotels we've stayed at in cancun. Hotel was accommodating to couples, singles, and families. Beach was pretty and had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Pools were also nice and big. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great getaway

Quick location to get to from Florida, all staff very friendly. Food was great, except for the grouper at DaVince's, a little chewy, but did not detract from my stay. All service was great. Beach is beautiful.

Do not get the Junior Suite

The Junior suite my wife and i booked was not what they say or show you. Upon arrival the ocean view was of a large palm tree and the bedroom view was of the building in front of us. We ended up having to pay $120 more a night to get near the beach and see the ocean. this is a lot of money to be sprung on you on a vaca. All in all the hotel is nice it is far down in the Hotel Zone so you cannot walk to anything it is a bus or a cab to gete there. after I got over the room situation we really enjoyed ourselves food was great beach was great.

It is a good place to stay. Amenities are good, but would have preferred a bit more variety in food.

awesome vacation

The pictures do not do this resort justice. I was surprised to see how big and nice it was. The food was GREAT in every restaurant. I have been several places, Omni being at the top of my list. The balcony door was left open and caused the room door to slam shut and break and they were up immediately to fix it. GREAT stay away from home. Truly paradise. Thanks

Fun vacation

My boyfriend and I came here for a getaway and had a blast! The food and service was great! Pina Colada is great for breakfast, and Viva Mexico has great mexican food. It wasn't an overly crowded hotel which we loved! We would definitely come back here!

awful vacation

I stayed at the Omni Fri 4/6/12 to Mon 4/9/12 Cons 1. There is no hotel shuttle available from airport to the Omni. You will need to rent a car or pay yellow transport $80 US dollars for a 15min ride. Avoid the Mayan Place timeshare people off to the right once you come through customs 2. The people at the front desk could barely speak English 3. There is always a hotel staff member in a blue shirt trying to get money out of you. They pretend to be helpful but its a trick. Avoid them the best you can. Do not go to the Welcome thing its a trick 4. The people in blue shirts at the hotel are very pushy and one of them almost made of miss an excursion pick up time. 5. Internet is not included you have to pay to use it or use one of the 4 computers provided for guest. The computer room is well hidden down some halls off the lobby 6. The food was just fair. I could have had better selection at Golden Coral. The food choices were limited and on more than one occassion food was spit out because it was just that awful. 7. It took us a day of being there to find where to get the towels to use by the pool. They are hidden by the guy who sells trips for jet skiing and other stuff. 8. The safe in my sisters room didn't work consistantly. Had to keep getting it fixed 9. Our room keys would randomly stop working. had to keep going downstairs to get a new one. 10. I didn't like the fact that the staff seemed to be spying on us. They seemed to know every where we'd been outside the hotel even though we didn't tell them where we were going. There was always someone in a blue shirt trying to question us. They tried to claim they were worried about our safety. 11. They kept sitting us a the table that had condensation dripping down from the air condition. Yes I know it's a hot humid place but how'd you like it if water dropped from the ceiling on your food or in your drink. 12. The service at the resturantes and bars was slow. There are a lot more cons I don't have time to type them all. Pros 1. The boys had fun at the kids club. 2. The view of the ocean was beautiful. I would not come back to this hotel ever again. I would pick a hotel closer to the shopping areas. I would also pick a hotel that had free wifi, a transported me to and from the airport. You must be able to say NO when you go to Cancun. Do not get sucked into any of the timeshare presentations.

Ride the bus if you stay in the hotel zone instead of taking a cab. It cost 12 pesos per person to ride the bus. A cab will put you back $80 us dollars.

Great service

Everything was exceptional. Could have been more shade at the pool areas. I don't think people should be allowed to put a towel on a chair and reserve it all day. Some people didn't come out till the afternoon.
