Awesome Couples Retreat!

We stayed at Nizuc last week in January, and it was perfect. We had a room with a king bed and private balcony overlooking the reef and Nizuc exceeded our expectations in every way, easily the nicest place either of us had ever stayed at. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and overall condition was immaculate. We tried almost all the restaurants and they were all very good but the Punta Grill was our favorite. The dinner we had on night one will go down as one of my favorite nights out. I had the steak, she had the lobster dish, we ate and drank plenty. Jonathan the sommelier was available to us, but as neither of us are anything close to wine afficionados his talents were probably wasted that night, but he was amiable and informative and really set the tone for the rest of our stay. The larger pool was not crowded at all and poolside service was excellent. The smaller "adults only" pools were also pretty amazing. I am not a big spa person but my much better half is and she convinced me to take a 50-minute aquatic circuit while she got a massage and I am so glad I did it. It was a real highlight on a trip that offered many. The concierge staff was very helpful with suggestions on where to go for offsite fun--zip-lining at Selvatica was a great suggestion- and everyone was really nice and friendly.

Great Getaway!

Everything about Nizuc Resort exceeded our expectations--and they were pretty high to begin with. Food was delicious, especially our first night at La Punta Grill. It felt like we were in a movie. Staff all around was excellent. Room was large and roomy and had a great view from the 4th floor. Ours was I think what they call "Ocean View Deluxe" not the suite and we wouldn't have known any different... Amazing.

Dining tip: In Hotel

I dont think it matters which building you stay in, they are all easily accessible by staff-driven golf carts which seemed to be always waiting wherever we were or wanted to go. We were on the 4th floor near the back end of the property and view was fantastic.

Romantic Engagement

We both enjoyed this vacation as a romantic getaway. Nizuc is perfect if you just want to lounge and have everything you need in one place. We had a short stay and never left to eat outside the resort. The food is a bit pricy, but oh so good! It was great to lounge on the beachfront and not have to leave our cabana. . . we were waited on hand and foot. Several different beachfront chair, cabana, and deck areas are available, and not stacked on top of each other to keep you from feeling crowded by the masses. The resort has low key activities (snorkeling, SOP, canoeing, and of course swimming) to keep you busy if you choose as well.

A truly relaxing, beautiful gorgeous resort!

Hard to write a review for a hotel that met and exceeded all our expectations. Wonderful, sweet, fabulous service from every single employee. The hotel is spotless, they are cleaning at all times, the room was very nice and we had a great ocean view on the third floor from our balcony. The pools and beaches were gorgeous. They have 2 beaches, one adult and one for families. What a brilliant idea! White soft sand and clear water! They have several infinity pools, one for children, one for families, and two more for adults. Plenty of umbrellas and service was impeccable. Great free little drinks of the day to help you select a large alcoholic version of it if you wanted to..Smart idea. Also fruit kabobs, slushy flavored ice with a straw all handed out at the beaches and pools everyday. Also yummy sweet sugar laden wonderful pastry at the end of the day! We went to all six restaurants, we were there for 10 days We also went into the strip (hotel zone) three times. All food was excellent, well prepared, fresh, delicious. Even the pizza in the Italian restaurant was great. Yes pricey, but you get what you pay for. We love good food that's why we do not stay at all inclusive properties. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. I'm sure I gained five lbs. from the best Churros I have ever tasted! I cannot say enough about the service in and around the property. The Mayan people are so professional, sweet and personable. From those at the front desk, to the concierge, to the butlers, to the golf cart drivers, to the pool and beach wait staff, to the cleaning personnel and even the landscapers I can not tell you one of them that didn't greet us with a smile a hand over their heart and perfect service. The reason for the four stars only for the room is because it just didn't have enough light in the bathroom or bedroom. It was difficult putting on makeup and for my husband to shave. We also had two queen beds and would have preferred one king. Shower was good, tub was nice, toiletries were top notch. We cant wait to go back next year..

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Cabs are pricey. $20 one way to the Hotel Zone. But it was fun getting of the property a few nights. Safe and great food. We went to The Lobster seafood restaurant that has been there for 30 years.... great. We also went to Henry's for steak. The best I have ever tasted anywhere. We have traveled the world even to Argentina, and this steak was the best ever!

Amazing amazing amazing!!

Pictures do not do the resort justice!! Everything was beautiful! We stayed in the garden villa with pavilion, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw everything! The service is great, the staff is always asking if they could help you with anything and they're always there when you need something! The pools are beautiful and the beach is divine. You won't regret this!
