50/50

When we first arrived to the hotel after a long flight, the staff member told us they had overbooked for the weekend and that we had to go 3 miles down to another hotel. I was on vacation, I was tired from the flight, and that's what I was greeted with when I walked in. I was disappoint, upset, and disbelief. I paid for a great price for the week I had booked for this hotel, and they had told me that the weekend (we arrived on a Saturday) has been overbooked. The only thing that ran through my head was that someone paid them more and they gave up our little studio to them. After over an hour of arguing with staff members and over the phone to the manager we were still forced to stay at another hotel. Instead of losing both days of the weekend, they were able to get us back in on Sunday afternoon. Besides the drama and chaos we had to deal with in the beginning of our vacation, everything else throughout the stay was great. Staff members were extra friendly knowing that they had caused us a big inconvenience.

Excellent Location

I spend my last day in Cancun in this hotel. Before that, I stayed in an all-inclusive hotel like 1 miles away. It hares the same beach with some 5 stars hotels. It would be a wonderful experience if you just need a place to stay for one night and catch the early fight or go to some parks next day.

Family Trip

Great stay for the price. Juan Carlos very helpful. Breakfast buffet is fantastic for traditional Mexican food, which is rare in cancun. Only cons are some staff are not very helpful and room keys frequently did not work

Amazing!

The hotel was perfect! What appeared quaint turned out to be a beautiful oasis, right on the beach and only about a mile from downtown! A perfect location for relaxation but also close enough to party it up on spring break! The staff was unbelievably amazing as well! Juan Carlos, Pablo, Ismael, and Hendrick were the best!

Awesome 4-day getaway

We arrived Friday night around 10PM and were happy to see a well-dressed man come down to meet us and help us with our luggage. We walked up the stairs to the front desk, and had a smooth check-in. The receptionist explained to us where we could go for the breakfast buffet (which we highly recommend, more on that later), where we could get towels for the pool/beach, and that Wi-Fi was available (in the lobby only). The first man then helped us to our room with our luggage, and we officially arrived. We had room 307 if I remember correctly. It had a huge bed (probably California King sized, not immensely comfortable, but not bad), a balcony facing the street (not the beach, unfortunately, but for the price we paid, we weren't complaining), a small old-school television, and air conditioning. When we looked in the bathroom, we found a used towel on the sink, an empty plastic wrapper that used to contain soap apparently, and the bin near the toilet had a couple pieces of tissue paper. The worst part of our stay was over. We stopped by the front desk to mention our findings, as we made our way toward the pool in the darkness of the night. We saw that it was quite the large pool, right above the beach, and that there was plenty of seating locations, a bar, and access to the beach. After enjoying the cool breeze of the ocean for a few moments, we retired for the night. Breakfast was the best! Served from 7AM to 10AM (or was it 11AM?), there's not a whole lot of variety, but we were definitely satisfied. They had chilaquiles, scrambled eggs (a bit runny), sausage, bread, mixed fruits, strawberry yogurt, plain yogurt, orange juice, horchata, coffee, shredded cheese, and a bunch of sauces. It seemed you could order additional things too if you wanted to. The waiters are very helpful without being too overbearing. Once friendly waiter, Juan Carlos, was our favorite. He told us about the bus routes, tour packages that he offered, and other places to see in the area. The service at the pool and beach was great. The lifeguard there doubles as the umbrella set-up guy, and was a huge help when the sun was burning us mercilessly. We were sure to tip all of the workers, as they definitely deserved it. Although the hotel was fully booked (as we were told, when we checked in and asked if there were any other rooms available, perhaps with an ocean view), it didn't seem packed at any moment. This was great for us, as we wanted a true "getaway". The hotel has a very cozy and "home"-y vibe because of its small size. There are bus stops very close to the hotel. It's $1USD per person, one way, so it's super cheap to get to the city to stock up on snacks and whatnot. Unfortunately, our room did not have a fridge, but we knew that already. If it did have one, we'd easily take the bus to the supermarket and stock up there (it's about a 15-20 minute trip). There are also some nice places to eat in the city ("eat where the locals eat"), and we saved a good amount of money doing so. Right outside the hotel there is a little restaurant with great prices. Across the street from the hotel is an Outback Steakhouse (American pricing), and a pharmacy. About a 10 minute walk from the hotel there is a plaza right on the bay that you can walk around, dine and do shopping at). All in all, it was an excellent stay. We would definitely do it again in a heartbeat.

Unique place to stay!

We stayed here for one night. We drove from the airport and it was easy to find, just take the one-way side road to the right in front of the "Beach Palace". We knew it was an older hotel that is being updated, so we didn't expect a 5 star stay. It's a budget minded hotel. The Beach was beautiful and the location was great. Within walking distance of little stores and restaurants.

Great place for beach time

Great value. Friendly staff. This is not an all-inclusive. It is vibrant botique hotel.
