Live Aqua Cancun - All Inclusive Adults Only

According to my wife the facilities were great but the promise of some perks with the trip never materialized (room upgrades, restaurant reservations, poolside service}.The note below is my last e-mail attempt at trying to find out where the breakdown in communication with the hotel was. I called customer sservice one more time and I'm still waiting for the promised reply.3/24/2011Dear Sir,I would like to convey my disappointment with the lack ofcommunication and consideration given to my wife and myselfby Groupo Posadas Inc., specifically Live Aqua Resort.I booked a six day vacation for my wife, Rebecca, and a friend in mid February. It wasrecommended that I contact the hotel, Live Aqua, to reservedinners in the restaurants with a request for earlysittings because of a health issue my wife needs to eatbefore 7 PM . On Feb 28, I contacted your live assistance online and wastold to email the hotel direct and it would be take careof. I e-mailed that day requested confirmation of myrequest for 4 days of restaurant reservations. I neverreceived any communication but assumed that it would betaken care of. On March 21 I again contacted LiveAssistance and asked about the restaurant reservations andI wanted to see if I could purchase flowers and a cake (mywife's birthday was on 3/22), I was again told to emailthe hotel or call the concierge [...]. I called[...] that day and left voice mail at her extensionwith my request and asked for a call back or emailconfirmation that she received my request.. I still havenot heard back.My wife checked in on Tues. 3/22 called and was told therewere no restaurant reservations for them and they couldonly get seating one night in one of the restaurants and itwas a late dinner which she cann't do without being illthrough the night. There were also no flowers or cake for her birthday. To sum it all up I am not a happy camper. I feel thatthere was no communication or consideration given to mytimely requests and that our needs were totallydisregarded. For a resort of your caliber this is verydisheartening. If you decided to respond to this note I can be contactedat, P.S. my wife is still at the hotel through Sun.Mitch

The hotel is beautiful and extremely clean. There are plenty of pools with different temperatures. The staff is very friendly. Food was an issue. There are only 3 restaurants and all of the food is similar which gets old after a couple of days. On many occasions my food was raw and inedible. After a couple nights of eating at the hotel, we ate at the mall across the street the remainder of the trip. Also, the constant spa music playing throughout the hotel can get very annoying after awhile.

Couple small issues. Room wasn't cleaned daily until early evening. Shower only worked for a few minutes than turned off.

The hotel is a very nice looking and clean hotel. The staff was very nice but the service at the pool and the beach was poor no matter how much you tip them. The food in all the restaurants was fair. Hard to get hot food. I was not happy about the limited selection of beers. The exchange rate was poor at the hotel. The room was nice but not up to 5 star standards. This hotel was poor value. Not going to return.

The Aqua Cancun exceeded my expectations. As soon as you walk into the lobby you get a sense of the entire ambiance of the hotel. It's serenity with a spa like vibe. There are water displays with soft music playing and the great service started immediately. Their concept is "Your wish, my wish" and they mean it. There's also a slight eucalyptus scent throughout the hotel - very spa like. The pools are fantastic - a series of infinity pools that are all connected with a wonderful view of the ocean. The pool service was very good and the menu options were delicious. We enjoyed shrimp tacos, fresh guacamole, and ceviche. They also have a swim up bar at a pool that's separated from the rest but we didn't try it out. They have plenty of 'reserved' outdoor beds which weren't used by anyone. They looked comfortable but the regular lounge chairs were also very comfortable and their towels seem fresh and new. They also have a great wine bar with a pretty impressive selection. We ate at the celebrity chef restaurant "MB" twice to enjoy the gourmet appetizers. Very good with reasonable ($10-$15) prices. We had breakfast most days at the Siete restaurant which has views of the pool. The coffee and menu were really good. Prices were reasonable but not cheap ($30-$35 for 2 people). The fitness center is clean and fully equipped. The spa was beautiful with a full menu of services. $100 for 50 min massage. The only 2 things that I found to be a negative were the adjoining rooms. I'm not sure that they are all adjoining but we were in 2 (first room had a crying baby next door) and both had doors to an adjoining room. The 2nd room we were in did not have anyone in the adjoining room until the day before we checked out but when that person arrived, we could hear EVERYTHING. Had we not been ready to check out, we would have asked to move again. You would expect some muffled noise when you have an adjoining room but this was almost crystal clear - we heard the alarm clock, coughing, sneezing etc... The other item (very small) was that the beauty salon is not part of the spa so if you want a mani or pedi, it's done in their salon which does not have the 'spa' experience.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful - modern, clean, open and bright. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The multiple pools were gorgeous and the service there was outstanding - particularly from [...]. Travelling without children, we appreciated the "adults only" pool. The food served at the pool was fantastic - particularly the beef pepito and the guacomole. The water in both the pool and the ocean was chilly. We utilized the spa on separate occasions and it was very nice. The staff there were very attentive.The hotel restauarant ME was ok. There was nothing really noteworthy and the food was just average. We did get recommendations from the hotel staff for 2 restaurants outside the hotel which were both excellent.

Could not say enough good about Aqua. The staff was attentive, room was clean and extremely comfortable. However try and avoid spring break. It's gets a little loud and crazy and takes away from that upscale spa feeling.

Everyone was really friendly. The place is really nice and new inside. My friends that I traveled with loved all the food. They had a couple vegetarian options, although some things weren't marked and I found meat in my food.
